Did it seem like Joshua doesn't want the Fury fight next?

AJ and Hearn probably didn't want to get ordered around by Turki and play by his fiddle to jump in the ring to announce the fight. He is the one who always wanted the fight, ever since 2021.

This should happen. It is the most logical thing for both. Don't see why Joshua wouldn't want it.

 

He's coming off a brutal KO and an accident that left the other passengers dead. How can he never be better than this?

 

Joshua thinks he's above responding logically to being called out by another fighter and it makes him retreat into the philosopher role where he cannot come up with a simple answer. In short he's just awkward and for whatever reason gets offended by the long storied traditions of call outs and confrontations. Remember when Brezeale just squared up to him slightly in a face off he went nuts as if he'd **** in his cereal lol. AJ is a weird guy to quote Whyte.

 

Interviewer: "Are you going to fight Fury next?"

Joshua: "I'm not as worried about it now but I'm going through a lot of personal stuff, and I might need a tune-up."

 

I have the feeling that Fury is 100% convinced he beats Joshua. I didn't get that same feeling from Joshua, that he beats Fury, when he entered the ring and was interviewed by Netflix after Fury left the ring.

Joshua probably wants the fight as it's by far the biggest payday he can get from the sport and presumably the only reason why he hasn't retired, but he's not exactly exhibiting enthusiasm when asked.

 

Perhaps Hearn-Joshua have 41 year old Wilder in mind for their next fight.

 

Who knows man.

I don't think he's scared of Fury, I mean let's be honest he's been in there with tougher, more dangerous guys than him.

Fighting Fury would earn him an obscene about of money.....maybe it's an ego thing, again, who knows.

 

I just think like he said hes been there before a few times no point getting excited. Plus hes still probably getting over his ordeal.

Im sure he will fight just on his terms dont think hes that arsed. Theres also the wilder option so I dont think hes as enthusiastic for it to be next as tyson is.

As for fury one day hes screaming AJ from the roof tops the next he will tell us he doesnt need the dosser.

AJ is a strange guy he tries too hard to be relaxed and cool and fury is the opposite the WWE performance is a bit cringe.

 

AJ absolutely, IMO, wants the Fury fight. Its by far his biggest pay day without a belt and he is fortunate to have that kind of aura about him, Tyson as well. They both need eachother and will make serious $$. I think for AJ, the unpredictability of Tyson now till then will keep him up at night

 

Seemed pretty obvious what happened to me:

Warren, Turki and Fury tried to force AJ to agree by calling him out in front of the cameras. If he agreed, AJ wouldn’t be able to have a warm up fight (like Fury has just had) and they’d have less negotiating power.

People seem to have forgotten that the only reason the fight didn’t happen years ago was Fury making stupid deadlines for no reason and talking his way out of the fight.

AJ and Hearn clearly went in with the strategy of not agreeing to anything or even getting in the ring, which was smart.

 

Joshua has not had a proper fight in 19 months and just nearly died and saw his friends looking like literal pieces of mangled flesh on an African pavement. so, I think he's owed a warm-up with an actual heavyweight like Fury just had beforehand.

 

Idk. Whatever is the case, it looked like Joshua didn't want the fight next. And if Fury doesn't want the fight and it's all bluster, Joshua looking like he doesn't want it makes it easier for Fury to avoid him.

Joshua having a "tune-up" could also be seen as an attempt to age Fury out further, and it potentially jeapordises the fight.

 

Probably wants the fight, but cant be bothered with (and knows he’s not winning) the mind games

 

He’s also got a lot of baggage, not a lot of sportsman are dealing with right now
