LOL no. What I mean is heavyweights from around 2000 and before were very noticeably more skillful on the average.

Definitely. Don't get me wrong, I am an Usyk fan, which is saying a lot because I do not call myself a fan of many fighters and I have been watching for over 50 years. His combined combination of Cruiserweight and heavyweight is a fine achievement, no doubt.

While Usyk is not nearly the fighter Muhammad Ali was, he showed that a guy of that size could come in and look absolutely dominant against the behemoths that look like very skilled tough man competitors.

Usyk's combined record of Cruiserweight and heavyweight is indeed a fine accomplishment. But as a heavyweight, the best guys he fought are overrated and not near the level of fighters of the previous eras.

And he would have eared them out too. Only Ali could match his size speed and ring IQ

I absolutely can. Are you on the sniff like your hero, Parker? Is that why your takes are so bad?

Fury is one guy on Usyk's stellar resume. A dude twice his size. It doesn't matter how bad Fury is, beating someone that much bigger than you will always be a top tier achievement. However, the Fury from sixteen months ago is nothing like the Fury of tonight. That's half the time Ali was away from the sport and people say that killed Ali's entire prime! This is an older guy and he's taking that much time off?! He looked noticeably slower, older, and less muscular in there tonight.

And we all know how Fury is. When he's up against it and actually has a legit opponent in front of him, he gets in shape. Did all those PEDs and came in looking fit as a fiddle against Klitschko. Couldn't squeak past Wilder in his first comeback, but hot damn in the rematch he had bulked up and looked great! Then he turned back into a flabby POS. But when it was time to fight Usyk? My man got himself TWO extensions so he'd have all those extra months to whip himself into the best shape of his life. And Usyk still bashed him up.

This Fury is a shell of himself. That's what going on vacation for a year and a half, ballooning up in weight again, and then having to spend yet another training camp as a fat camp does to ya. It's why he needs to stay away from Usyk and AJ. He's going to get seriously hurt at this point.

Same ol' tired and boring and stupid argument that has gone on since time immemorial.

Please, enlighten us all with actual evidence that previous eras of boxing were so much better skill wise. Video evidence, training montages, any actual concrete evidence will suffice. Because it kinda just sounds like you're an old fart stuck in the past who doesn't actually know how to evaluate talent and instead just liked the fighters you grew up with. Just like how people like the Classic Rock station on the radio and constantly talk about how music was so much better way back when. Not realizing that the Classic Rock station doesn't play the duds. They only play the hits from those previous decades.

The 90s gets lauded as one of the greatest eras of boxing ever, second probably only to the 70s. Lennox Lewis ended up the clear best boxer of that era, right? Well, let me list off some names of guys that held titles while Lennox was around. Axel Shulz. Michael Moorer. John Ruiz. Chris Byrd. Old Fat Foreman who couldn't move whatsoever. Bruce freaking Seldon had a title in the mid 90s. Shall I go on? You're telling me those guys are miles better than AJ, Fury, Whyte, Ruiz, Joyce, Wardley, Itauma, Dubois, Parker, and Usyk?

Watching a glorified sparring session between an old man who has been out of the ring for a year and a half and a prospect level dude who has already been stopped twice and trying to use it to paint this entire era of HW boxing as garbage is some diabolical work. As the British would say. . .wind your neck in, son!

I am saying that, after watching boxing for over 50 years, my opinion is the skills of heavy weights of today overall are among the worst I've ever seen. That is why a historically very good fighter came in and wiped out all these Giants with no problem

    Fixed that for ya.

If these HWs were so awful then someone else would have moved up and cleaned them out earlier. Or at the very least knocked one or two of them off.

How is an unsubstantiated claim about Parker relevant here? Your constant, condescending attitude isn't flattering and makes you look like an idiot and isn't fooling anyone.

Usyk simply has Fury's number, no shame in that, the same way Fury will always deal with stiffs like AJ. That's why AJ didn't jump on the chance to face the fighter who's supposedly ducked him for 10 years.

I was really irritated by AJ’s arrogant attitude when Fury and Turki invited him into the ring after the fight.

He acted as if Dubois hadn’t wiped the floor with him in his last bout, and like he was some kind of king of the world.

He should have accepted the invitation, stepped into the ring, and faced off with Fury. What he did was disrespectful to Turki, Fury, and the boxing fans.

Yeah that whole "I'm the landlord" when Turki was right there was a tad ironic.

Some of the 90s guys have impressive deep resumes with 10 plus contenders beaten. Nobody from the current era does because they were to busy ducking and fighting once a year so legacy wise there is a big difference.

We don't have a good sense of how good Fury etc are because they didn't test themselves against each other

Na sod that, he was clearly annoyed at how they tried to peer pressure him with clearly no agreement to do such a segment on his part
It was nice to see somebody not give a crap about Turki and his money and do the opposite of what he expected

Even if AJ looked bad, I doubt he gives a s£#t as he is one person in Boxing that doesn't need Turki and his millions
