Why is AJ so afraid of fury?

Earlier on when Eddie was publically begging for this fight Fury was the lineal champ and Joshua was a claimant. Fury had given Wilder his shots but hadn't given Joshua his. Fury had something Joshua was trying to get. This is no longer the case. Now the fight is just money Joshua can get elsewhere.

The whole point of the Wallin and Ngannou fights was to elevate AJ above Fury without them having to fight.

Joshuas body language has often been terrible before dominant wins and embarassing losses. Hes not someone you can read the tealeaves with. If Joshua thinks hes going to kill someone he still looks like a deer in the headlights. Thats just how he looks.

 

His fanbase have really ran with the Ngannou and Wallin wins. They have amnesia about Joshua getting splattered by Dubois and then fighting Jake Paul.

Fury fought a reasonable comeback opponent and looked good. It's not easy coming back after the first two defeats, especially in your late 30's, and he dominated. Joshua fans rushed in to defend the Franklin fight, didn't they? Where's that energy?

 

I'd give Joshua a pass if he retired after that horrible accident.

How in the world can you have damn near 40 fights on your resume and the only dudes of note on your record are old Klitschko, Can Crusher Wilder, and Usyk? That's only three belt holders over a 40 fight career! One of whom was the most protected fighter in HW history! Oh, damn, wait. Sorry. I'm wrong. I got carried away. Fury actually has FOUR belt holders on his record. We gotta remember Steve "The Cruiserweight" Cunningham who had a belt in the lower weight division. Came in to that fight at a whopping 210 pounds and still put Fury over on his ass. It's just so crazy that a powerhouse of a man like Fury, one of the best HWs of all-time, a man who never runs away from a challenge, can only have four guys who held a belt on his record. He's only been in seven title fights total! What crazy luck, ya know? Usyk only got to the HW division in his mid-30s and he already has six title fights at HW! That's to go along with his seven title fights at cruiserweight. A dude who turned pro at 27! Tyson turned pro at 20!

It's so weird how certain awful people just have this crazy cult-like hold over the witless masses. I see it over here in America with MAGA and their endless devotion to a old, orange faced conman who literally shits his pants daily. Luke Partrid. . .sorry, I mean Tyson Fury is a lot like Trump. Just an all around despicable guy who only cares about himself, who constantly has to belittle other fighters, who can't give credit to those who best him, and who sells a scam that his actions don't back up. Have a little self respect and find someone better to support!

 

Facts are he was contracted to fight Wilder a third time and took Wilder to court to try and get out of it. Whether we needed a third or not has no bearing. Fury clearly wanted nothing to do with it. Probably because he didn't want to get blasted off his feet again and knew he couldn't stay in the shape he was in for the rematch. Turned up looking like a fat tub of lard and even though Wilder was dead on his feet after 5 rounds it took Fury until the 11th to finally get him out of there.

 

Yes he did but his old habit of having momentary lapses in concentration would definitely cost him dearly v a more savvy guy than that Russian Lion , to tell the truth if I'm being honest the fight with Josh has gone well passed its sell by date and I'll be surprised if it even gets made and even more surprised if it doesn't stink the joint out if it does .

 

The call out was funny. Credit to Joshua, he has obviously been practicing for having to go face to face with Fury. Thought he did well until pressed by the interviewer about whether it was 'a yes' or not and he then backpedalled to 'when I'm ready.'

 

IIRC Frank at the time was trying to set up an AJ fight instead. Either way, it's hardly a duck when Fury already won by KO and fought him twice.

 

Fury thoughtlessly and hot-headedly called out Joshua, but he's already thinking differently today...

 

I thought AJ handled it well speak off well, like AJ said Fury I've chasing you years and he's been avoiding him. It my opinion it was Fury, that came off, as usual cringey.

 

Typical of these ****s like Fury and Wilder calling dudes out in public and then doing everything they can behind closed doors to hijack those fights. However there's an endless supply of morons who fall for that ****, time and time again.

You really will just believe anything, won't ya? Ol' Frankie knew full well they weren't getting out of that Wilder fight. He and Bob Arum, a guy who has been a contract lawyer for longer than most people on planet Earth have been alive, wrote the damn contract! They knew exactly what the wording was and that they weren't going to be able to wriggle out of it. It was a convenient fiction they put out there that they wanted to fight AJ which made Fury look better while making Wilder look worse by wrecking this fantasy fight.

 

I'm assuming they thought that they'd 1. Wriggle out of it or 2. Pay Wilder off.

I'm not sure what chip is on your shoulder but you need to adjust that attitude bro. It ain't that deep.

 

I feel the appereance by AJ today really struck a nerve with his fanbase. The business evolves around optics for a large part. AJ played a role (really cheesy) to maintain his image and not show any loss in stature. His hardcore base rushing in to defend it speaks volumes.

I am not judging on motivations (the accident is still very fresh, not wanting a piece of Fury or simply trying to age him out further).

I.m.o. AJ ever since the Ngannou fight has a clear chance of beating Fury. The fight yesterday was a decent showing considering his age and inactivity- still; he was getting grazed way too much by the overhand punches. Typical sign of slowing down even more. Arguably 2020 was the last time we saw something that was close to vintage Fury. Fury will get hurt by any of the top 10 fighters still active. Wich is territory in wich Tyson has not been in for large streaks of his carreer.

From a sporting and business side of view AJ should take the fight. I simply dont know if he is willing or able at this point. Time will tell.
