I feel more like Toney was an out of shape slug at times whereas Duran just struggled against anyone with really fast hands at 147 or higher.
So you think that the Duran who boxed Laing was the same level of effort and motivation that boxed Davey Moore and Hagler? Interesting perspective. So I assume that in a fantasy match up with Duran, we have to take the Toney that boxed David Tiberi?
Ok, but you stated you think Toney would "beat the crap out of him" I just don't agree. The Duran who boxed cautiously with Hagler would also take Toney the distance and it would be an interesting matchup. I take Toney to win, but he doesn't beat him up.
Duran went 15 with Hagler, he'd go 15 with Toney and if that fat slob drops 40 pounds in the last 6 weeks, he gases and Duran gets a SD. Toney was not a great middleweight , but his size makes him the favorite
