    No one he beat was any good, the talent pool was much smaller and the time and devotion to training was much less. These very early boxers are way overrated. Their skills were very basic. I agree greatness transcends generations but in boxing at least only from around the 1930s onwards, pre this time period "great" achievements were much easier to accomplish as the talent pool was smaller and so was the devotion and time put into the craft.

    I missed Greb off for one thing. At the time, I just didn’t know where to place him. And, yeah, that is a really generous placement of Jack Johnson…

    This would pretty much be mine now. I’d probably have Armstrong just above Langford myself but that’s just me.
