If we're playing the what if game, is Fury in the Vlad-Fury II match mentally well? Pretty clear that Vlad destroys the suicidal coke addict version of Fury who didn't train.

While a rematch offers Vlad the chance to re-strategize, he would still be up against a highly mobile, highly elusive, bigger guy who could reset him with jabs from outside. It's not so simple as cranking up the aggression (as many Joshua fans found out in Usyk II). Fury also has a well developed inside game, is good at mid range, and has plenty of other tools if the fight moves past a potshot contest.

I still favor that first version of Fury to beat Vlad in a rematch, but he may not have been able to deliver that performance ever again, which is something you can count against him. We'll never know.

Well if Big George was such a idiot to fall for such a basic plan in the first place who says he wont fall for something similar or the same plan again, also Ali a one trick pony? The hell?

Lopez vs Kambosos. Kambosos has been abysmal ever since. He lost to Maxi Hughes. That being said Teo is overrated.

Calling Ali a one-trick pony is a bit bizarre.

Foreman also after the Ali fight went life and death with Lyle and got retired by Young.

So I'm not sure why you are so confident Foreman would win a rematch.

Agree. Foreman doesn’t beat Ali in a rematch in my opinion. Ali was too smart for him.

George does beat Jimmy Young in a rematch though (on the proviso that his head is back in the game).

Disagree with both of these. Wlad would always struggle with someone as big, quick and elusive as Fury was in those days. Fury beats him clearer second time round. And Ali took a big bit of George's soul that night. George didn't know how mentally fragile he was until Ali whupped him, and let's have it, Ali whupped him that night, I'm always amazed he lasted as long as he did with those short, brutal headshots he took round after round. I can't see what George can do differently in a rematch...outbox Ali? Knock him out? Big no on either of those for me.

Great thread by the way, thanks for starting it!!
