Victor Galindez vs Dick Tiger @ 175

Galindez on points. I know Tiger dealt well with this style, but when it’s an ATG at a weight Tiger isn’t at his best within, it’s probably too much to ask to expect him to come away with the victory.

Also, Galindez could box and counter a bit as well.

Dick Tiger was a great middleweight. He was a natural middleweight. As a light heavy, he could be outmuscled and out punched. Galindez was too big and strong for him.

 

This might come down to whether in a fantasy fight setting for Victor Emelio we include “has his WBA palls make sure that Stanley Christodoulou and Waldemar Schmidt are on hand to ref/judge” — because those two (occasionally one or the other, usually in tandem with one as ref and the other as a judge) were magically assigned to the majority of his title fights.

In fact, that’s why he didn’t enter the ring to fight Mike Rossman (with Rossman, the champ, literally waiting in the ring for him) for their contracted rematch … local officials weren’t going to assign his pet officials so he refused to fight — and the WBA (not shockingly) backed him up and ordered another rematch (rather than say ‘you chose not to fight, ruined a show where people bought tickets and a national TV audience was waiting … you get to go to the back of the line and earn it if you want a shot now), which he won when Rossman broke his hand.

With those guys, Galindez won several closely-contested title fights and got all the benefits of the doubt. With those two as his armor, Victor outpoints the Tiger.

Without? He might not get in the ring.

 

Gallindez was a real LH Tiger was not. Both good fighters. Good big man beats the good little man.

That was my first thought as well, he's the natural 175lb guy. I can see a lot of facial damage ,cuts, head butts etc. occurring in this fight . Be a war

Galindez clearly IMO.

Tiger was a former Middleweight who was weighing 168 pounds as a Light Heavyweight. So he was basically fighting as a Super Middleweight.

Galindez is considerably better at Light Heavyweight aswell as being bigger and physically stronger at 175.

Galindez by clear decision.

 

I also think the size tips it into a Galindez win. Some might argue Galindez was the better boxer too.

Looking back on the 70s, three of the most dislikeable champions/high profile boxers were Argentine, close friends and met sudden early ends. Bonavena, Galindez and Monzon. Strange coincidence.
