If that's a reason for you to be ok with it, in effect it basically means you're ok with the cashcow cheats.

'failed to pursue it' seems almost equivalent with cashcow protection. Too many earn their money with the likes of fury, canelo, benn etc

A-side cheating is ingrained in boxing it seems to me. Bad for okolie that he isn't big in any way...

Also sometimes i feel b-sides conveniently popping for drugs - like povetkin against wilder. I assume he took whatever he took before already, but didn't pop against his former opponents.

    Same With joshua and miller

That's an unfair interpretation of my post. It's a breach of natural justice if you ban/convict someone without following due process, and it's on the drug testers to establish guilt. Everyone has the right to defend themselves as well, and for a punishment as severe as a life ban it should only be done where guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

So, if Okolie, Fury, Parker or anyone else is found to be guilty through a thorough and fair process, they should absolutely be banned for life from the sport. A-side or not.

Uh, what? Jesus Christ, the very first thing the good ol' Google pops up if you ask it if there was an investigation into Fury.

Yes, there was a major, multi-year investigation into Tyson Fury regarding adverse drug tests. UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) investigated Fury and his cousin Hughie Fury after they tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid nandrolone in February 2015.
Here are the key details of the investigation and its outcome:

    • The Charges: In June 2016, UKAD charged both Tyson and Hughie Fury with the "presence of a prohibited substance" from a February 2015 sample, which was taken nine months before Tyson defeated Wladimir Klitschko.
    • The Defence: The Furys denied taking the substance and blamed the elevated levels on consuming uncastrated wild boar.
    • Investigation and Delays: The investigation lasted over two years, during which Fury threatened to sue UKAD. In December 2017, a settlement was reached rather than a full independent panel hearing.
    • The Penalty: Tyson and Hughie Fury received two-year bans. However, due to the delay in the case, the bans were backdated to start from the date of the failed test (Feb 2015), allowing them to resume their careers in December 2017.
    • Separate 2016 Case: In September 2016, Fury also tested positive for cocaine in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test. This led to him vacating his heavyweight titles and having his boxing licence suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control due to "medical issues" and drug use.
    • New Allegations (2020): In 2020, a farmer named Martin Carefoot claimed he lied about supplying the wild boar to the Furys and alleged he was offered £25,000 to lie to investigators, raising questions about the legitimacy of the original defense. UKAD said they would look into these new claims.
Following the 2017 resolution, UKAD stated the anti-doping rule violations "should apply" but acknowledged the compromised resolution. The results of Fury's 2015 fight against Klitschko were not disqualified.

So there was an investigation. He was found guilty. He not only popped for Nandrolone, he also got busted for cocaine. Then the cheeky ******* actually threatened to sue UKAD.

So now that you know there was an investigation and he was found guilty. . .should Tyson Fury have been banned for life?

This is exactly why lifetime bans shouldn't be handed out. Because the system is clearly set up to let marketable cash cows with big-time promoters behind them go scot-free while poor working stiffs like Liam Cameron get it up the backside with no ****. I mean, for goodness sake, ACTUAL legitimate justice systems around the world convict innocent people all the time. Here in America over TWO HUNDRED people have been exonerated off death row. And that's a system designed explicitly to determine guilt or innocence with actual professionals like lawyers, judges, etc. The system we have in sports, particularly boxing, is just some goofy doping agency looking at tests, hearing excuses, and then deciding if they've been paid off enough by Frank Warren to drop/minimize the charges. It's why we haven't heard a peep about Joe Parker since he pissed hot for cocaine. He's going to fade into the background for awhile and swerve all consequences because he's a named guy with Frank backing him.

I can't take you seriously if you're going to just copy and paste AI. Also, lose the attitude.

And yes, Fury should be banned for life, but a full and proper process was not followed and they settled instead. This isn't the "gotcha" you thought it was.

Cop out. Is the AI wrong or not? You know it isn't. It just shows how intentionally obtuse you are on the issue because it involves one of your guys.

Yeah, you don't get to police how I or anyone else talk on this forum. Don't know why you think you do, especially when you're own attitude is quite the joke, Cartman.

It's absolutely the gotcha I think it was. WHY was a proper process not followed? Maybe because Fury is a ticket seller and had Frank Warren (and potentially even worse people like Kinahan) in his corner? Being intentionally obtuse isn't doing you any favors here.

You clearly have no problem with letting your own favorite fighters skate on punishment while acting all self-righteous against fighters you don't care about like Okolie. Any news on ol' Joe? He banned yet? Oh wait, this wonderful system we have just isn't going to do an investigation and therefore it's fine he pissed hot for cocaine. Wonderful. I guess if they don't do an investigation into Okolie we'll be cool with his skating, too, right?

I answered your question. If proper process is followed, ban em. I don't care who it is and I'm not playing favourites much to your dismay.

Seriously though, grow up. Start by acting your age rather than your shoe size.

I'm popping you on ignore in any case. If I wanted to read a wall of text with AI slop sandwiched in I'd go on social media.

Ran your mouth, got checked, can't handle it, run away. Pretty much par for the course in my experience with people who support known drug cheats who associate with gangsters like Fury and Parker do.

Maybe i worded it badly. it wasn't meant as a direct interpretation in the sense that that is actually your stance on things.

It was more a commentary on what that would mean in effect. Fury, benn, canelo and many more got out of auch investigations. You don't hear anything from parker's investigation right now. And so on

Then there are the likes of joshua where noone can tells me he grew like that from his olympics body just because of training. Just my opinion. Usyk miraculously kept most of his speed an agility while putting on a mass of muscle in 1-2 years.

Maybe that's all possible, but i doubt it.

And if those don't get found out how unfair would it be for the less attractive ones that are at a disadvantage anyways to get banned forever?

I am with you that drugs don't belong in the sport, but as it is it seems we have a very unfair system and it gets even more unfair if we ban those that are caught forever. Plus we lose a lot of names.

We simply have no way of getting rid of the drugs unless you have an actual entity that tests thoroughly and everyone unannounced and even at night time.

    I don't see that coming

Fury lawyered up basically. The doping agency 'Ukad' wanted to pursue the matter to the finish. However as a UK government backed body they required permission from the Treasury. Fury's team threatened to claim against UKAD based on the potential earnings of an undisputed heavyweight champion. The Treasury, deep in debt, had no interest in even running the slightest risk of having to shell out hundreds of millions and told UKAD to drop it.

Well what's the alternative, just give up and let them all dope up?

Undoubtedly the system as a whole needs improvement, but that doesn't change my view on the end result: lifetime ban for drug cheats. The consequences for their opponents is very real, and the punishment needs to reflect that.

Then that's the fault of the UK Government and they need to sort their **** out.
