Definitely has that 90’s feel to it! This content is protected This content is protected There used to be a pro that used to post on here several years ago. He had some really interesting stories about who he sparred and who hit the hardest. He apparently sparred every big name from the mid 90’s up to the 00’s. He said the hook from The Duke in the 6th of this battle was the hardest shot he ever witnessed. lol! He said he was at that fight and heard the impact of that shot over that loud crowd. Incredible shot.
That absolutely was a highlight reel shot by Morrison, but Ruddock was up very quickly and seemed to have his wits about him. The announcer here...Mike Marley I believe...let an expletive slip out when Morrison landed that bomb. This content is protected
Bad stoppage by Lipton. Even this decrepit version of Ruddock would have won this had he been allowed to finish the job.
I’ve never seen this broadcast. Is that Bert Sugar? It’s great to hear them slamming Lipton for the stoppage. I truly believe Ruddock would have come back to stop a gassed Morrison.
That's definitely Bert Sugar, and the other guy sounds like Mike Marley. Anybody remember this Holyfield commercial? This somehow came to mind when I saw the Morrison-Ruddock commercial... This content is protected
As strange as this may sound, I actually think this fight proved Tommy didn’t have a ‘glass’ chin! Because Ruddock could crack and he did nail Tommy with some nasty hooks and uppercuts that Duke got right back up from. A lot of other heavyweights would’ve taken a 10 count. I don’t know… I just feel he always got kind of an unfair narrative in the chin department. But let’s be honest, a Vitali or Wach in the whiskers department he was not! Lol But had he been… just imagine.
It’s crazy but I truly believe the fall and roar of the crowd woke Ruddock back up! Lol! Because after that nuke left hook… Ruddock was absolutely limp!
