The unification of the Featherweight WBA / WBO will be apparently in September between Brandon Figueroa 27-2-1 (20KOs) against Rafael Espinoza 28-0 (24KOs), both are ranked respectively by boxrec number 2 and number 1 (for Espinoza) and number 5 and number 1 (for Rafael Espinoza) by The Ring Magazine in Featherweight.

Honestly this is a very courageous move by Brandon Figueroa, but this guy, every time he's champion, he doesn't keep the belt for very long.

He has punched straight through his armpit and out through his chest. Fatality!

Great fight if it happens, I'm surprised Ball's team didn't insert the rematch clause.

Not sure what they could change for the rematch and they knows that, Nick Ball is too offensive and takes too many hits.

I am amazed a guy 6 ft tall can make that weight.

Nothing that hasn't been seen before. Raul Perez was 5'11 and was Bantamweight champion (118 lbs). I think it all comes down to physique. I'm still amazed that a 6'5 fighter in Fundora is as tall as Lennox Lewis and yet can fight at 154.

I was a post away from asking, 'Why aren't the featherweight's unifying?' Took a while but well done. Whether or not Espinoza can get the stoppage, you suspect he's got a bit too much at this stage. Good fight.

I’m not high on Figueroa skill-wise, but this will definitely be a contender for Fight of the Year, even if it’s only somewhat competitive.
