Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua Battle of Britain Poll

I've always thought Fury beats Wilder, Wilder beats AJ but AJ KOs fury.

Still think Joshua will knock a slower less mobile fury out

 

I said in the general forum that I don’t think a loss for AJ matters one little bit at this point, but I do feel like an AJ defeat for Fury really trashes his legacy and leaves his wafer thin resume in tatters.

 

The fact that Fury took on a solid, powerful if predictable opponent who had some decent wins so far VS Joshua's absolute tin can crusher with an ultra padded record makes me think Fury should win it. By the end the Mak fight the feints were there he was controlling the inside and bigger shots were landing and while AJ is much better fight on all levels than Mak I just think Fury has more ways to win.

 

Reckon Joshua loses before he even steps in the ring. Too weak mentally to deal with someone like Fury.

The only very slight chance I see for Joshua is that Fury hasn't been great defensively for years but then I think he'd survive a KD or two anyway.

 

Hilarious story on the BBC today saying Saudi would cancel the fight if Dua Lipa refused to perform at it (and she's presently refusing).

I'm sure it's some tongue-in-cheek comment got out of hand but also wouldn't be remotely surprised...

Prime for Prime a close fight but I think Fury niggles him around with his little flicky jabs and faints and edges him on points in a 7-5 type fight. Joshua was always much more vulnerable but in terms of actual overall ability? I have always thought they were quite evenly matched in terms of talent.

Now? Fury mostly batters him and either beats him wide on points or stops him. Joshua has very little chance at this point of being competitive let alone winning.

 

I find it very hard to trust Fury these days who looks like an old man in terrible shape. Joshua has in his favour the fact he's never not been in good condition, punching power, and better technique. The only thing that Fury has in his favour is a jab and the fact he's a more natural 'fighter'. I'd be surprised if Fury knocked Joshua out but not if Joshua knocked Fury out.

2015 - 2020 I'd have taken Fury without a doubt.

 

I have the opposite feeling. I feel prime for prime Fury boxed his head off and probably stops him Wilder 2 style.

Now I think it’s a bit closer.

 

I just hope both men can leave the squared circle after the bout with health very much in tact and win lose or draw they can go home to their families and look in the good old looking glass in their mansions and be very proud as its what it's all about at the end of the day isn't it surely? putting some Hovis on the table for la famiglia?

I just wish there was something on the line here...I'll still watch it but still.

 

Hearn and Warren must think they've won the lottery. Getting their 10% for a fight someone else is putting on, no talk of "splits" or "a-sides", no TV deals to worry about and they can probably pollute the undercard for free - and it's big enough the mainstream will promote it without even trying. They just need to turn up, speak when asked and get out.

 

Just heard from a very reliable source that there will be a special British title on the line for this but not in the form of a belt but rather a key. This is such an awesome touch.

 

You’d think that, and it would be the logical way to look at it, but knowing how much they quietly hate each other, I’d bet both of them are thinking the other one’s just nicked 10% off them by being involved at all.

Hopefully they stick another 5v5 on the undercard as well, because this weekend’s fight feels like the actual battle of the leading British heavyweights.
