This is really the fight to make unless he can get Bivol or Beterbiev.

Opetaia would embarrass Benavidez. It wouldn't even be a close fight. I think Opetaia stops Benavidez within 4 rounds.

The only fights Benavidez should even be considering if he wants to be great, Usyk, winner of Dubois vs Wardley, Opetaia, Bivol, or Beterbiev. Fighting Canelo would simply be beating up a smaller old man in a meaningless cash grab.

There's a reason Benavidez called out a semi-retired MW last night and not the actual champion at the weight he just fought at. I am genuinely dumbfounded at how many people are picking Benavidez here.

Someone's got to be fed to Opetaia, who's had to put up with the other CW beltholders ducking him for years.

Now a marquee name holds two of the belts and what does he do? Call out Canelo??

He might as well have announced "I plan to duck Opetaia," because that's the fairly accurate translation.

Meantime, what's holding up the deal for a Mikaelian-Opetaia unification? Has that been signed yet??

I want to see Beterbiev punch a hole in Benavidez

I remember Benavidez Snr being terrified of Beterbiev a few years ago especially when he demolished Callum Smith so effortlessly

Canel ducked Benavidez, then Bivol ducked Benavidez and now Benavidez ducks Opetaia. Nice merry god round.

Benavidez complains of being contained to be the boogey man of two divisions and then he gets the shot at being the man at one and he called out Canelo?

Can't say I'm surprised. Most boxing fans are way too easy to read.

This site overrates Opa like they overrated Timmy.

No way Opa demolishes Benavidez. You fanboys are so stupid

Cruiser is a barren waste land. Either fight Opetai or move down. If fight happens I’d favor the bigger and heavy puncher Opetai.

    This.

Ah the power of recency bias and and day drinking, imagine believing Zurdo is anyone's litmus test.
