I quite like Cordina and he was very unlucky in his loss to Cacace but I do think Mason will be too much for him. I wouldn't favour Cordina over Noakes, personally, but him against Mason should be a fun fight while it lasts.
I like Cordina and everything, but the mere fact that he looked pretty average against a bummy scrub like Gabriel Flores Jr, who was utterly dominated by Venado Lopez and Giovanni Cabrera, and needed gifts against Abraham Montoya and Jose Arellano, really speaks volumes about how his move to 135 is working out for him. Then when you add in the fact that Joe got gifts against Edward Vazquez and Shavkat Rakhimov before getting demolished by Cacace, who was more risk averse against ****ing Jazza Dickens and Josh Warrington's tattered decomposing remains, than him... speaks volumes. So yeah, Mason is going to gruesomely annihilate poor Joe.
I wish Cordina the best in this one, but he has no more to offer than Noakes did (in fact he probably has a lot less to offer than Noakes, who I would back to beat Cordina.)
This really isn't that bad of a fight. Cordina is an ex-champion with only one loss, and Mason is 22 and had a tough fight last time out against Noakes. It's about building his brand and experience. Cordina has the savviness to make this interesting for a few rounds, but Mason will stop him at some point.
