Usyk vs Pulev in his prime

To me, it's going to be on the jab game and over-reliance on it. Wlad took it away from Pulev purposefully, instead of trying to use his own, what was ordinarily the best jab in the division, because it's like a bizarrely above-his-station ability Pulev had, and the way Wlad did it was by utterly crushing him with power punches and not bothering with his own jab much, the way I remember it. You're right, Usyk can't do that. But I don't think Usyk's going to be upright enough for Pulev to get him with the jab, and, if he is, that follow-up right hand is just not going to be there for him. And that's a decent enough punch but it's not good enough to do the job even if he does find the mark more than a handful of times.

Wlad's a tall-fighting man who was fighting a shorter Pulev who could still out-jab him, potentially. Usyk's not a tall-fighting man who exaggerates a height advantage with upright, lengthy distance. But his regulation of distance is all with head movement and footwork and I don't see Pulev quick enough or crafty enough to stick him. Pulev will have nothing to offset Usyk's athleticism. Chisora's style and lesser height looks worse on Usyk than an upright guy roughly the same height, I'm guessing. I mean, you're right that Usyk isn't going to do it on stopping power like some have, but he won't need to or even come close to needing to, I suspect.

Pulev isn't or should I say wasn't a bad boxer at all but Uysks footwork alone would be enough to cruise to a win

 

I don't know if I would give Pulev more than like a 10-15% chance.

 

Pulev was never particularly that good to begin with, his style was a little awkward but that was about it.

 

Pulev might give him issues at range for a few rounds, he was well schooled, brilliant jab and distance control with the lead hand and punched well off of that, but didn’t straighten his right hand well.

Usyk would adjust, sneak into range past Pulev’s jab and begin to get into mid range and catch Pulev off guard by doing so subtly.

Yeah, he'd make it competitive for at least a while. People acting like he's total garbage are ridiculous. Wlad actually rated his skills and thought he had more skills than AJ if you listen to interview before that fight.
Usyk probably can't hurt him so it's going to go twelve.
Pulev can't hurt him either.
Pulev can box.
I think it's the kind of fight that could have been a challenge as one of the early fights at HW for Usyk.
In his prime Pulev beat Chisora quite comfortably I think and as someone with no power that demonstrates something.

 

Usyk absolutely batters Pulev, Dubois would absolutely batter a prime Pulev

 

Usyk will smashed him prime Pulev or not.
It's not the same level.

 

Even washed up Pulev hung tough and caused AJ a few issues. Agreed. Prime Pulev was solid.

 

Pulev had a fair few problems with Hughie and a bit more than that with an old Tony Thompson. Far too predictable, Usyk schools him with ease.

Nah don't see it. Pulev was solid.. Left jab right hand upright...decent power.... Usyk just does what we have seen him do. Works out the fighter, finds his angles, and then ups the ante. Pulev does nothing better than Joshua really and we saw how that went.
