At least he might make top 10. That's a good point. Going by that argument you would have to consider zurdo, too

Zurdo is Mexican. Benavidez is American; Mexican-American, sure, but American nonetheless — born in Phoenix.

that said, Zurdo fighting at HW probably could beat any active American heavyweight.

    Corrected List:
    1. Richard Torrez Jr. (a lot better than people think because his style is messy. Good heavyweight prospect.)

    2. Jarrell Miller (hard style for anyone to fight and also is extremely active in 2026 as he wants to fight on the Boots vs. Zayas card.)

    3. Jared Anderson (very athletic, powerful, and some skill but has one of the worst combinations of bad habits a heavyweight boxer can have, which is bad defense and a bad chin. He did improve his defense after the Bakole fight, but he looked bad against a Greek boxer.)

    4. Deontay Wilder (won again against an old, fat Chisora who was a top 15 heavyweight. I think he loses to the rest of the top ten except maybe Gassiev.)

    5. Andrew Tabiti (I think he can be a solid heavyweight, but he needs better competition and more fights. He still has that cruiserweight speed.)

    6. Jerry Forrest (good gatekeeper. Should of got the nod against Franklin and Hunter).

    7. Kingsley Ibeh (Bad conditioning holds him back. I picked him to beat Miller, failing to realize he hadn’t gone past six rounds in a fight. Ibeh gassed out, and Miller won a points victory.)

    8. Jermaine Franklin Jr. (gatekeeper)

    9. Charles Martin (gatekeeper)

    10. Gustavo Trujillo (Not interested in boxing. Won't do anything of note.)

As a British boxing fanatic, it is very sad for me personally, as I literally got into boxing in the 2010s from watching the old heavyweight fights from the 90s on YouTube... There was a documentary about controversial sporting moments, that featured Tyson's antics (The Bite Fight etc) which got me interested in the first place, and then I watched the actual fights on YouTube and it just went on from there. So it is sad to see just how bad things have gotten.

I think they should make some of these guys fight each other. Like make a full event of American heavyweights vs American heavyweights. They could even make it like a tournament-style event, which would be cool. It would at least generate some interest and get some of these guys out there a bit more.

Depending on how much these guys want to get payed it's impossible i fear.

Ruiz alone wants millions he can only generate against the publicity top dogs. The only other american he can get that money with is miller and he just did that. Unless benavidez wants it which would be extremely unlikely

And i think the same goes for the other ones. Everyone is maximizing their earning potential by Keeping their zeroes or getting more than they could against other americans.

    Torrez 26
    Anderson 26
    Miller 37
    Moore 32
    Juarez 28
    Stone 31
    Hines 30
    Taylor 29
    Edwards 25
    Vanhouter 21

The only one who I consider to be a bona fide contender is Torrez. Edwards might turn out to be okay.

The USA promoters need to import a few East European heavyweights, and keep them active to build a fan following.
