Chelli just beat Morrell in much more impressive fashion, Morrell was never hurt that much against Benavidez, and he obviously didn’t get Morrell out of there. Could Chelli get the job done? Who wins this matchup?
Chelli will lose but for his next fight he can call out anyone he wants. morrell didn’t respect him enough. Chelli will never be underestimated again
Chelli was fantastic against Morrell but if he fought that way against Benavidez he would get beaten up badly. The combinations especially in the inside would get ugly.
Benavidez took Morrell's soul he is not the same fighter anymore. He beat Hot Rod comfortably and now lost to this guy.
Which would still be a good win. Hotrod is no bum. Now he loses to this school teacher. He lost his confidence totally.
Yes, it was a good win, but I was responding to the fact that he said Morrel comfortably beat Hot Rod. Also, when I asked, "What fight was he watching?" I was responding to the fact he said, "Benavidez took Morrell's soul" in their fight, so I should have written my comment a little better. I am a Benavidez fan, especially after his performances, though.
It's amazing how often the US audience continues to massively overrate Cuban boxers. The way the US boxing media hypes up these "Bogeyman" Cuban boxers to raise the hype levels of limited American boxers time and time again is amusing. Can't believe it still works.
