I agree. Unfortunately Foster was in a bad spot, but he also gave it over to the doctor twice who ruled ok. In my opinion the corner had to stop that fight, Foster did stop it!

I don't like all the fluff these days with boxing, but fights like this remind me that it is actually still boxing, it can be every bit as good as it ever was at times.

Shame it went on a little too long, Wardley took too much there, that can be a career damaging type beating. I found it odd they let him carry on when he was swaying like that. He cant keep taking punches like that in his career, great chins and taking beatings does not end well down the line.

Dubois surprised me there. I just thought he froze and was on his way to getting blasted early. His mentality is hard to get your head round. Maybe he ducks out when he knows he simple cant win, but when he thinks he can, he will fight tooth and nail for it. pretty smart when you think about it lol. He's clearly got a lot of heart, but a guy with Usyk's skill can shut him down, not many like that though....

 

Great performance by Dubois, Wardley is too brave for his own good and his corner were just as brave tonight.

I’d like to see Dubois vs Kabayel next, I still think Moses has a lot to prove before he gets a title shot

 

They can have a rematch, it's heavyweight boxing, you're going to get hurt, that's the game. All this "I don't want to see a rematch", it's not like Dubois battered him for the whole fight and there's no need for one. To not have a rematch would be insane, it doesn't have to be Wardleys next fight but he's going to want a chance to avenge that.

 

Isn't it great that we have young guys wanting to have a tear up again and are prepared to fight anyone? Well done both guys.

Meanwhile, we still have the last generation in 'negotiations' to fight 10 years past their primes.

 

Now that was a fight that lived up to it's billing.

DDD, dropped and then turned up the heat on Wardley. Rematch? Why not. Wardley is a very, very brave man the corner should of stopped it or threw in the towel, he was out on his feet way before the end.

 

Ben Davison getting pelters online for not throwing in the towel but the only person allowed to stop that fight last night in the corner was the chief second - and that was Rob Hodgins not Ben. But regardless I agree, Fabio should have been pulled out 2 maybe 3 rounds earlier.

 

We’ve had a lot of people on here over the years and I’ve been here from 2009 or something like that, who have said that boxing is dead compared to the UFC or that bare knuckle will take over etc etc. You won’t get Wardley Dubois in UFC. You won’t get Fury Wilder, Joshua Klitschko in bare knuckle. Boxing at its best is beautiful brutality. That’s why we love it. It’s not two men scrambling about on the ground, it’s got a real nobility, the Noble Art. Even in film, Raging Bull could only be about boxing, that’s why there are so many boxing films. Don’t get me started on the history. The ( arguably) first world heavyweight title fight was on the 18 December 1810. 1810 ! It’s an incredible sport and I’m proud to be a fan. So the next time someone wants to come on here and slag off boxing while biggin up mma, your entitled to your opinion of course but have a little think, one’s got Conor McGregor as its historical figurehead, one’s got Muhammad Ali, do I need to say more ?

 

Best post I've seen on here in ages and sums up why I love boxing and dislike MMA. MMA is a very well-marketed event where the primary style wasn't defined for several years and the most successful skills are often the most dull. But UFC is also home to the Monster-fuelled bro crowd which feels little different to a banter night out ending with a scrap in the kebab shop. In the US it's also somehow got attached to the MAGA crowd and you can see Farage showing up at a show in the UK sometime for sure.

Once the Matchroom FC era washes out of boxing we'll be back to people who actually love the sport and don't go for a coke-led night out, and we'll get more nights like last night that don't need a stadium full of helmets or Saudi marionettes to justify the purses.

Just watched the highlights.

All I can say is respect and kudos to two brave fighters who both ate absolute bombs.

Both are heroes in my eyes after that fight.

Daniel for recovering from 2 early KDs, Fabio for somehow staggering upright around the ring without dropping alá Fury v Usyk in their 9th.

It does though amplify how great a fighter Usyk really is given he beat DDD twice.

If I was Daniel, I would avoid Usyk and concentrate on Kabayal, Itauma and maybe the winner of AJ / Fury for the obvious mega payday which he'll strongly fancy winning.

Ultimately, Boxing was the big big winner last night.

Does anyone know how it actually came to be such a delicate state? Boxing? Pre-Boxing?

 

Just watched the fight back and wardley should have been pulled out at the end of round 8. Especially with a rematch clause he was getting beat up and ended up not just hurt but he's been damaged in there last night. At the end of the day keeping your fighters facilities in tact is the most important thing.

I think dubois lacks that killer instinct there was times in there he had him hurt and was 1 punch from a stoppage but he just didn't do it. That and the fact that wardley has got the best chin in boxing made for tough viewing in the end.
