Dubois also has a habit of wearing guys down much like Agit does but he is the heavier puncher by far
Idiocy. Zhang is a statue who dies in the ring from asphyxiation after four rounds. He was the perfect fodder for Kabayel. A big idiot who can't move so Kabayel can stick his head in his chest and go to town with his body work. Daniel is completely different from Zhang in almost every respect. Kabayel has a suspect chin. He's been severely wobbled and/or put down multiple times, even by middling to bad fighters. He also has a severe lack of defense. Against a big puncher like Dubois, that's a problem. Dubois is quicker, has faster feet, a much better jab, and much more stamina. I don't think he's a complete stylistic nightmare for Kabayel, but he would pose Kabayel some severe problems. There's basically zero chance he stops Dubois early. Again, as I've said over and over and which was proven tonight, Dubois is one of the toughest fighters in the division as long as he can land punches. Kabayel isn't as defensively poor as Wardley, but he's extremely hittable. And he doesn't have the power to get Dubois out of there early.
Kabayel stops Dubois While Dubois’ win against Wardley deserves credit, it doesn’t have much bearing on how he’d perform against Kabayel. Kabayel’s IQ, movement, punch variety is stratospheres above Wardley
If Dubois added more body shots to his game a lot of his fights wouldn't go 5 rds. Agit does this well but at the same time if Dubois uses his height, reach and angles against Agit it would be interesting to see how he handles that.
I'd like to see that one, Kabayel walks through the fire to get in close and work his body attack, which would negate Dubois jab if executed properly. But, he'd have to get past Dubois jab to execute at his favoured range, and inside would have to contend with DDD's dirty edge, head/elbows etc. Quite an interesting match up!
You make a good point. Daniel actually landed some horrible body shots last night and not many were commented on. I think at tines these drained Wardely even further.
Usyk, Kabayel, and Itauma are a bad stylistic match up for all these big heavyweights, their boxing IQ is way above the likes of Dubois, Joshua, Zhang, Hyrgovic, Wardley, Bakole etc
Dubois only seems to quit when he can’t land his shots, Kabayel is very hittable especially in his come forward style. Now Kayabel can box going back but he’s less effective like that, and that just encourages Dubois to attack, and with his spectrum disorder that turns him on.
I very much want to see this fight but I'm guessing Dubois has to deal with a WBO mandatory vs. Itauma (which I'm also happy to see)...? Anyway, the only fighters I'm concerned with now are Dubois, Kabayel and Usyk (and maybe Fury depending on how he handles his latest comeback).
Kabayel took a full-on Zhang hook flush to the side of his head -- which would have flattened most other fighters -- and got right back up, proceeding to cripple Zhang to the body within a couple of rounds. If Dubois is forced into a mandatory vs. Itauma, Kabayel deserves the winner ... or a shot at Usyk. Anything else would constitute more ducking....
