Amir Khan after Danny Garcia. Amir took crazy damage in that fight and his chin never returned. Bute Froch (Bute was somehow done) Teo Kambosos (Teo never looked the same) Tank Roach (Tank never recovered) GGG Canelo (GGG was different after 2nd Canelo fight) Dawson Pascal (From P4P to...a contender)
This is more accurate than the Douglas narrative, which I've always disliked. As a huge Tyson fan I've always felt Tyson derailed after the combination of Jim Jacobs dying and the loss of Kevin Rooney. With no one around who fully grasped the peak a boo defense, manage his career, or anyone who could remember end swell for that matter, Tyson had to train and manage himself and that tends to lead to embedded errors.
Best example of never the same / prime beaten out of someone in a single fight is meldrick Taylor vs JCC
Taylor still had a few good performances after the first Chavez fight and his win over Aaron Davis was very good. It was when he fought Terry Norris and getting stopped by him in 4 rounds that he was no longer the same fighter.
GGG was old when he fought the first Canelo fight. Then after two robberies, he probably thought feck this sh!t.
I reckon Fenech wasn't the same after getting robbed with the bogus draw in the first Nelson fight that took a lot out of him mentally.
Bowe was not overrated in the slightest. Fights like Bowe Holyfield leave lasting damage on a fighter, because if you say no, then Ali had no excuse to lose after Frazier 3
