Good list of boxers who built their entire fight strategy behind the jab. That is the optimal approach to boxing IMHO. Usyk has a great jab and uses it well. GGG had an underrated jab.

My only question to DDD is why he doesn't use it more. It is a very powerful jab and if thrown properly is the least risky punch to throw. I remember his coach saying between rounds to double up the jab - gets the opponent countering thr first jab and increases the likelihood of connection.

In short, DDD should rebuild his strategy around the jab and he will be even better.

I think his timing and footwork are very good when it comes to his jab. Its not as fluid as Holmes but it might be the most powerful jab I've seen. He throws it perfectly from a body mechanics point of view and he catches fighters coming in while he takes a short step in, or moving away. His gauge of space is very good. I don't think he throws it as much as he should BECAUSE it is such a howitzer, he couldn't throw it the way he does for a full fight. His jab is scary, I've heard those who spar with him saying it is both very hurtful, like a right hand, and deceptive. Dubois is a much better more fluid boxer than many think. Rewatch his fights watching for footwork, punch placement, body mechanics, timing and spatial awareness and you will see he is a decent technician. Efficiently remoreseless. Unless you are called Usyk...
