    Dumb take. There’s 4 belts. This is another pathetic attempt to discredit Usyk. So the guys Inoue took the belts off aren’t champs too right since they’re clearly worse than Inoue?

    First off how is this a thread to discredit Usyk ?

    Just because you want to glaze over Usyk 24/7.

    You think because I don't consider Dubois a legit champion you're so butthurt you think I'm discrediting Usyk are you for real ?

    Did you miss the part of my post where I said "Usyk is the real champion"

    Secondly it's nothing to do with Dubois beating fighters for titles you perceive as being worse than him ?

    Its the fact Dubois is fighting for a title because the real champion Usyk vacated the belts.

    And since Usyk has already destroyed Dubois twice. The claim that Dubois is a legit belt holder from winning a vacated belt from the guy who has already destroyed him twice.

    Doesn't hold much weight for me.

    So your Inoue comparison is irrelevant and is nothing to do with Dubois at all.

    Back in the Golden Years of Boxing there was one Champion in each Division,this was before the multi belt era’s,back then you had to beat the Champion to become the Champion (Lineal Title). If we are to hold today’s fighters to the same standards of the past then I have to agree with others in this thread,Usyk has not lost and is undoubtedly the Champion of the Division. Despite Dubois’s great win at the weekend and getting himself the WBO belt in the process,he is merely the WBO belt holder and Usyk is the Champion of the Division (who also coincidentally does actually hold the Lineal Title) .

    AJ was the champion when Fury retired. Vitali was the champion when Lewis retired. Now Kabyel is the champion because Usyk is acting like he's retired by fighting a kickboxer.

    It is that but that isn't my only issue.

    I give credit for fighters winning belts depending on the context.

    But my issue is Dubois was fighting against fighters who didn't actually win the belts inside the ring do you know what I mean ?

    And IMO it's hard to legitimise Dubois as a legitimate belt holder based on that.

    Especially when the vacated belt has come from the real champion Usyk who destroyed Dubois twice.

    So I'd consider Dubois as just a top rated contender and not a legitimate belt holder until Usyk retires that's how i view the situation.

    Neither AJ nor Vitali gained universal recognition. And we all know Usyk is now the champion no matter how we are hurt by the fight with a kickboxer.

    Dubois suffered a broken left orbital bone and nerve damage around the eye against joyce, a potential career ending injury, he took the knee for it, but boneheads called him a quitter.

    Dubois vs lerena, he suffered an ACL tear, and still won the bout, yet ppl doubting his heart.
    Dubois went to war with hrgovic and Miller in a gruesome battle.

    Became the IBF champion after usyk vacated the belt, and his first defence he took on AJ and delivered a demolition job.
    Dubois vs Usyk, lost two times against the all time great, many ppl dont recover from losses like that.

    Dubois vs Wardley, went down two times early, came back, and just destroyed wardley to become a 2 time champion
    But no, we have to read from ppl like you he is a contender and not a champion, allright then.

    You're missing the point.

    There's a difference between deserving rightful praise for winning tough fights.

    And being considered a legitimate champion.

    Dubois deserves credit for beating notable tough contenders.

    But Dubois was fighting for a vacant belt which was vacated by Usyk the same fighter who destroyed him twice.

    So considering Dubois a legitimate belt holder based on that is a stretch.

    He should be considered a top contender nothing more nothing less whilst Usyk is still active.

    No it doesn't it's called using common sense.

    Usyk deserves praise for beating a top ranked contender who was a hard puncher.

    But considering Dubois a legitimate champion for winning a vacant belt that Usyk vacated who had already destroyed him twice doesn't make much sense.

    Dubois should be considered a top contender and the only fighter in the division with real claim to be a legitimate champion is Usyk.
