I noticed the referee was favoring Dubois - stopping the action in the 7th when he was hurt, and ignoring the head butts, including the first nasty one that opened a cut over Wardley's eye.

Fabio Wardley's team are disappointed with the officiating in Saturday's fight against Daniel Dubois, Sky Sports understands.

Extensive and visible damage to Wardley is thought to have been caused after he was caught by repeated illegal blows, including multiple head butts.

His team would also like an explanation why Foster broke up the action, just moments after Wardley hurt Dubois in the closing stages of the seventh round.

Wardley could decide to enforce an immediate rematch with Dubois after suffering the first defeat of his professional career.

Forearm on the throat too, as well as the blatant tackle.

Yeah, he wasn't favoring Dubois. Foster genuinely thought the clacker was the bell. Regardless, Dubois wasn't close to going down. So Wardley's team should shut the **** up and focus on fixing his technical flaws, which is why he lost the fight. Not because of poor officiating. If anything, they should be pissed with Foster for almost letting Fabio be beaten to death, although that would require a degree of introspection on their part, and Ben Davison isn't willing to go there is he? Because he was he most irresponsible of them all.

There were a few times where Dubois was loose with the use of his head, but as far as illegal tactics went that was it, and I would hardly consider it egregious and it didn't have any impact on the outcome of the fight.

Usually, complaining about the officiating is the first step toward selling a rematch. We saw this with Dubois and Usyk. I hope for Fabio's sake that he doesn't trigger the rematch clause.

Foster is about as consistent as a politician. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near high-profile fights.

I don't think Wardley was winning that one with such a **** gameplan, and his corner shouldn't have let him carry on with his face so heavily damaged, but that doesn't change the clear impact Dubios's fouling is having on fights (even if he might win them cleanly anyway).

Have a look at Foster in Opetaia vs Thompson. I have rarely seen more biased refereeing, not that it helped Jordan much.

I would argue against a clean win if the opponent has been compromised by fouls.

Perhaps Foster was leaving it to Wardley to respond to excessive headbutting by chomping on Dubois' ear .... ?

It's weird though right? He's reffed so many fights but he didn't recognise the clacker? Either way, he's ****ing terrible.

That's kinda my point. Even if the fouler could have won without them, they still need to be scrutinized for it.

Dubois is definitely a dirty fighter. What cost Wardley the fight is that he is below average, skills wise.

Honestly speaking, it's the first time that I had really noticed Dubois dirtiness in a fight to that extent, he followed up with elbows a few times!

The tackle was not a good look. Maybe that should have been a point deduction. The grindy elbows to the face were also bad. But in the end, DDD was going to win once he'd worked out Wardley's limited punching output.
