Roll the dice - Dubois vs Joshua 2

People on here don’t want to admit AJ looked worse that night than he’s ever looked because they don’t like AJ. But name one other fight where AJ ever walked out with his hands down and his chin up in the air? Or when he’s ever looked that sluggish? Even in the first Ruiz fight AJ was a lot sharper and had better defence than against Dubois. He was actually setting up punches rather than doing the Ben Davidson special of just chucking a right hand out into the void and hoping it lands.

I’d say the best version of AJ beats the best version of Dubois. Whether we’ll see ‘the best version’ of AJ or something close to it isn’t clear but I don’t see why not.

Dubois is good but is being overrated because of recency. I’d still stick some money on AJ to beat him.

And now compare both of their fights with Usyk. Funny how the better boxer had the clearly worse performances.

 

So what are you saying? That despite Joshua getting completely outboxed from the opening bell, knocked down multiple times from the very first round onwards, and not winning a single round against Dubois, he’s actually the superior boxer and just got unlucky?

Also, “clearly worse” lol, Usyk dominated the pair of them in all 4 fights, such a big difference

Joshua’s “clearly better” performances against Usyk somehow couldn’t help him win a single round against Dubois, go figure

 

As someone who doesn't like either AJ or Dubios, I agree. AJ fought a lazy fight, got caught and couldn't recover. In a rematch I think AJ takes it, but it'd be close.

 

Joshua and Hearn have already stamped Dubois' file with TOO DANGEROUS.

No chance there is a rematch, none.

I’m convinced even without the tragic accident AJ was involved in the opponent for his “comeback” would have been of the same level as this prenga dude
That’s why I have a hard time listening to Eddie spout on about how AJ is elite top 2/3 heavyweight in the world when the opponents suggest otherwise-it’s almost a bit yarde like- elite opponent followed by part time cab driver on repeat, if your top drawer your top drawer why the need for warm up/tune ups every other fight?

 

Dubois would KO him again. The story goes at 18 he sparred AJ when he was world champion and knocked him down or out then, the same thing that happened in their actual fight.

 

Joshua had a punchers chance. He did hurt Dubois. But Dubois has all the confidence right now and most likely squashes him again unless AJ runs.

 

I think that part is definitely overlooked. AJ tried to follow up and got caught with a nice counter, but he definitely rocked him.

 

Joshua was not out of his prime at all against Dubois as he looked as sharp as ever against Wallin and physically appeared the same as when he boxed well against Usyk.

Dubois is simply the better fighter. He has the better jab, better engine, harder punch, and more confidence letting his hands go.

Joshua seemed petrified of Dubois and as soon as Dubois landed on his chin, it was game over. Joshua was knocked down or badly hurt in EVERY round and the nanosecond he had some minor success, he was immediately knocked out clean a nanosecond later. yet, some mongs are actually arguing that Joshua would win in a hypothetical rematch. LMFAO

 

So how come Joshua went the distance in both fights, and won rounds off of Usyk?

 

Joshua can't go in with any big puncher who fights aggressively, he just can't take a big shot anymore.

If that was Joshua in the ring with Dubois or Wardley on Saturday night then he would have been stopped. I think he's a better boxer than both but he does get hit, he would have to fight ultra cautiously, I just can't see him lasting the distance.

 

No need to convince yourself mate, they literally said it was going to be a Prenga level opponent even before Jake Paul was announced. It wasn’t being sold that he was looking for a competitive fight, they literally said in plain words, we are having a run out against a bum.

Sounds like you do have a hard time listening to Eddie talk after all otherwise you would have known.

If they can't confirm the most important part of the story then it can be taken with a huge pinch of salt.
