I think I favour Fury.

At his best he could probably outslug and out box Holyfield, mainly due to his being so freaking huge. The hassle Fury presents is that he isn't a clumsy sort of huge but that he moves very well for such a big dude. His timing is good and he's a smart boxer. If I had to map a route for Holyfield I'd probably tell him to press the action as much as possible and try to run Fury's tank flat. Kinda roll the dice and see what happens. Fury's chin isn't as good as it should be given his size and maybe Holy could exploit that.

Furthermore I think "peak Fury" is something that we never really saw, in that his form was inconsistent and usually short of peak. Whereas Holyfield invariably came into fights in tip top condition. So if this was a real-life meeting, Holyfield's chances would be much better than in a theoretical H2H bubble.

Fury probably gets a decision even though Evander is the greater fighter

 

I'm not convinced that Fury can beat Holyfield.
He hasn't really faced that kind of challenge.
I'd have to favor Holyfield. He's a much better fighter.

 

Holyfield KTFO Fury

 

Holyfield spent years in the amateurs while Fury spent his time with Gypsies.

Holyfields seen it all before, Fury is nothing special.

Holyfield beats the f*** out of Fury.

 

Fury would try to keep Evander at long range on the end of his jab and tie him up in close or push him back out into his range. Evander has to use his advantage in quickness to get inside Fury’s reach and slug away.

With Fury’s’ skill IQ and 7 inch height/reach and 50 lb advantages however he should score heavily at long range. The approx 270 Fury can also use that huge weight advantage to tie up Holyfield and lay on him to tire him out like he did with Wilder.

Evander could pull it off but I think odds are better that Fury though he ll take some lumps comes out with the UD or late round tko.

 

The version of Holyfield who bulked up for Bowe in their 2nd fight and used smart tactics moving in an out firing off rapid fire combinations.

That version Holyfield would outpoint Fury.

Fury likes to fight at his own pace and wouldn't have the energy levels to beat that version of Holyfield over 12 rounds.

That's why you see the smaller Usyk take over against Fury in the 2nd half of the fight.

 

Holyfield would look like a laser beam vs. Fury, providing he actually respected Fury enough.. which he probably would, but that's not necessarily set in stone.

Holyfield was so skilled, he didn't respect many of his opponents. He'd rather have a knock down, drag out.. because.. hey.. why not?

 

If Usyk can beat Fury then Holyfield definitely can

 

Fury would have his moments but I think a Prime Holyfields wins an 8-4 type decision.
