Allen actually looks to be in pretty good shape, by his standards. His lowest weight since 2019.
This could not be the mismatch it looks to be on paper, and what most are expecting.

I'll be watching this as I'm interested to see what Hrgovic looks like as a future opponent for Itauma.

Hrgovic attributes wise looks the part but he always looks like to me that he doesn't show enough fire in fights.

He also has this weird phase in fights when it's like he switches off completely like against Adeleye. A fight he was totally in control of then out of nowhere he let's his opponent fire off like 20 unanswered punches on him.

If it wasn't for Hrgovic having a rock solid chin he would've had multiple losses already IMO.

His chin is his best asset by far.

I expect a convincing performance and a stoppage victory for Hrgovic, who I hope doesn't get injured so we can see him against Itauma in August.

what happened was that Adeleye hit him with a perfect shot that seemed to shut him down or have him out on his feet. Adeleye did that to him more than once. But weirdly when that happens to him, he doesn’t fall down, and he can still absorb shots. It’s a weird state. That’s how Adeleye got off that 20 punch barrage. Hrgovic woke up in the middle of it and started defending himself, which was wild if you rewatch what happened.

if that happens to him against Ituama, he’s in trouble, I can’t see anyone staying standing from an unanswered Ituama barrage.

my take on the Ituama fight is that Hrgovic is the final boss who will show if Ituama has the full package or not. If Ituama has a decent chin and can handle a guy who will bring the fight to him, and can do it without gassing, he’ll win, my guess would be by stopping Hrgovic on his feet. If it turns out Ituama is lacking one or more of those he’s in trouble because Hrgovic can win. Especially the chin thing. You can’t be packing glass against Hrgovic because he IS going to be landing that right hand consistently.

its Ituama’s final exam. If he wins convincingly, thats it, he’s ready for anyone. Usyk, Kabayel, Dubois, you name it.

… and I think he’s going to pass. He looked phenomenal against Franklin, managed his stamina, remained patient, kept all his best moves, etc. I absolutely love that mode he goes into when he gets a guy into a corner and starts feinting high and low real quickly for a bit, because you know he’s going to exit that mode with some blistering combo. That’s like his signature move. Bet you he ends up with some highlight reel KOs in big fights with that.

I seriously hope he doesn’t fall off the wagon, because he’s more and more looking like the biggest talent since, I don’t even know, Ali? His attributes are insane. He seems to have got the full Mike Tyson set, except he’s 6’4” or 6’5”.

Allen says he's in very good shape for this fight - 11lbs lighter than he was for Mak, said he's trained really hard, and seems to be really up for the fight. I think Mak was a winnable fight for him but he was very lazy and didn't let his hands go near enough.

Hrgovic is a much better boxer than Mak and a tougher ask but Allen is very durable, has never been dropped, it's his homecoming (the first time he's fought in his hometown in over a decade) and apparently it's sold very well and there will be a great atmosphere so there's that added motivation for Allen, and it's a 10 rounder and Allen can punch and Hrgovic is very prone to cuts and we might see some home cooking from the British ref if Hrgovic does get cut again.

On paper Hrgovic should win convincingly and possibly even via ref or mercy stoppage late but everyone knows you count out a Brit at your peril and facing a fired up one who can punch with an iron chin in front of their home fans might be the toughest assignment in all of sports

I got Hrgovic but if Allen is as motivated as he seems to be and does let his hands go often it could be tougher than most are anticipating

If Hrgovic does win I have little interest in seeing him vs Moses as I think Moses is all wrong for him and Queensberry's loyalties obviously lie with Moses and they do not have Hrgovic's best interests at heart. It's a great match up from their perspective for Moses as Hrgovic is highly rated, extremely tough and durable, hits hard but isn't considered a huge puncher, is easy to hit and a lot slower, and on paper should take Moses rounds but, as said, I think Moses is all wrong for him and it's a dumb fight for him to take

Incidentally, Hrgovic said recently that Adeleye is the hardest puncher he's fought

Adeleye hit him pretty hard no doubt. Zhang didn't put him down properly but he tagged him pretty hard too. Dubois also hit him pretty hard with headbutts.
