Alexis Arguello vs Alfredo Escalera is a brutal twin killing. Absolutely earned the Bloody Battle of Bayamon tag.
Hi Saint. Great call, he never looked better, what a truly great fighter he was, sometimes we forget. Mike.

Sugar Ray Leonard Vs Thomas Hearns Roberto Duran Vs Sugar Ray Leonard We all know the third fight does not exist.
Kind of curious to me why Ray Leonard doesn’t get more credit for the third fight. This was a version of Duran coming off a brilliant win over Iran Barkley, a true and legit middleweight champ who was big, powerful, strong and seasoned. Roberto had no excuses this time — he simply couldn’t cope with Ray’s lateral movement and ring IQ. Duran was unable to dictate the terms of combat nor impose his will and made to look impotent. Yet the Barkley win (and the narrow Hagler loss) showed he was capable of beating top guys at that weight. He also had every reason to be his best self — a chance to erase No Mas, and the bout was announced in late July but didn’t take place until early December, giving him ample time to prepare. And for anyone wanting to use the ‘it was freezing and he couldn’t get warmed up’ excuse … it was 60 degrees in Las Vegas that night. Not exactly arctic conditions. In short, it’s a much better win for Leonard than is generally recognized. He put on a clinic and made a Duran who was fiery and ferocious vs Barkley look pedestrian.
