I was stating that it wouldn’t have been a clash between two skilled technicians. It would have been a bulldozer vs a technician. Not a chess match. Meaning that it doesn’t matter how technically skilled Usyk is, because he wouldn’t been afforded the time and the space to have used them. Mike was smaller, faster and more powerful. It would have gone the same way as the Dubois fights? Ridiculous. Pressure?? What pressure? Usyk would not have pressured a power punching pressure fighter. Silly. He absolutely hasn’t got the attributes.
They are not ''completely different'' as I mentioned some of the similarities, and there isn't just one way to beat someone, Usyk is technically superior to Holyfield in some areas and can use those to his advantage. Buster Douglas isn't Holyfield and he got the job done, but there is always some kind of excuse for Tyson's losses, ''he would have beaten everyone if he wasn't who he was''.
There is no excuse from me for any of Mike’s losses. It’s simply about styles. Usyk has not got the jab that Douglas had. Hasn’t got the inside game. Evander didn’t have the jab of Douglas, but he had the inside game. The strength. The power. He bullied Mike on the inside. Evander could also be very dirty. With his head. Usyk doesn’t fight in that manner. He’s a great boxer. Now, has Usyk got a great, long jab? No. Is he great on the inside? No. Does he bully and overpower his opponents? No. Mike had to be beaten down. You had to put a beating on him to get rid of him. Again, Usyk is a chess master. A technician. How many knockouts has he got at HW? He hasn’t got the attributes needed to have been favoured over Mike. Explain how he beat Dubois and AJ comfortably, yet could barely beat Breidis?? Styles. Mike was a smaller, faster, more elusive wrecking ball. Usyk couldn’t have stopped or deterred Mike from pressuring him at every opportunity.
Is this prime Mike tyson we’re talking about the Tyson who knocks everyone out in two rounds in fantasy matchups but in reality goes the distance with journeymen and gets finished by bums? Or is this theTyson who was stopped by Kevin McBride? Either way Usyk by UD or late stoppage. And by the wayTyson is the most overrated fighter ever . Glorified can crusher.
Brilliant. Great sarcasm. No bum knocked out Mike in his prime. Mike didn’t crush cans. You obviously have very limited knowledge of the era. Okay. So we’ll go with your silly level of thinking: Is this the Usyk who could barely beat Maris Breidis? How many HW’s has Usyk knocked out? How many guys has he fought like Mike? A stoppage? Delusional. He hasn’t got the power to have stopped Mike. It’s about the worst match up that you could have given Usyk at the weight. A terrible stylistic match up for him. He hasn’t got the attributes needed to have kept Mike off of him.
Usyk could lose to Mike by knockout but I give usyk more chances to outbox Tyson. Usyk has one of the best staminas and would purely box and counter Tyson. He would frustrate Tyson big time and is mentally in a league of his own. Watch usyk vs gassiev for usyks strategy. My pick usyk be decision
Mike Bison was good when he was the bully but once the bully got bullied we all so what happened. Usyk wins.
Purely box, how? He wouldn’t have had the time and space to have out boxed Mike. You had to have space to box Mike, if you could keep him off of you. If you could keep him at bay. What does Usyk possess in order to have stopped Mike from suffocating him on the inside? He has no deterrent. No jab, inside game or power. Mike had to be beaten down and/or physically man handled. Usyk doesn’t beat guys down. He’s a technician. He out manouveres guys with his great ability. But you can’t out manoeuvre a smaller, faster, wrecking ball, when you haven’t got the attributes required. Then we have guys predicting a stoppage. Who’s Usyk stopped at HW? What were the circumstances? He was never stopping Mike. He would have been suffocated.
That’s rubbish. The Ruddock fights alone breaks that silly myth. Again, Usyk hasn’t got the attributes needed to have been favoured.
Why wouldnt he? Usyk is maybe the best HW I’ve seen in last 20 years in the clinch, he clinched with Fury and AJ and got the better of them. Mike was quite predictable and Usyk would get a read on him very quickly. Mike could catch Usyk first 2-3 rounds but after that it would be a very one sided affair. No jab??? Usyk has one of the best jabs in boxing and probably the most sneaky one. He outjabbed everyone he fought and he fought Fury and Dubois who both have incredible jabs. Where does the bs come from that Usyk has no inside game?? Have we been watching the same boxer, Usyk throws very short and accurate punches on the inside, they dont look flashy so they’re being underrated
FastSmith7, An awful post by you. Zero context applied. So what if he got the better of those guys? They were much bigger and much slower. Whereas Mike is much faster, and even faster than Usyk. A laughable comment. Based on absolutely nothing. Predictable? Predictable in driving forward, but a wrecking ball who was a switch hitter, with great speed and power. A one sided affair? Mike would have rampaged forward at every opportunity, with advantages in speed and power. He’d have backed Usyk up and limited his time and space. Now what exactly would Usyk have done to have starved of those attacks?? You literally had to beat Mike down in order to have stopped him. Usyk would not have beaten him down. Why couldn’t Mike have caught him after 3 rounds?? What, after 3 rounds, Usyk would have just magically had new attributes to have easily beaten him?? Mike would have gassed?? Ridiculous. I wasn’t speaking literally. I’m obviously talking about with regards to a specific fight with Mike. That really shouldn’t need explaining. He had no jab for Mike. No jab to have stopped or deterred Mike from forcing him onto the back foot with power and pressure. Usyk’s jab would have done nothing to a 5’10 Mike, with his ‘Peek-a-Boo’ style. He had no inside game for Mike. A switch hitter, who threw vicious body shots and uppercuts. He couldn’t have bullied Mike on the inside. He couldn’t have overpowered him. Usyk has also shown vulnerabilities on the inside.
Sorry but this reads like the typical "Rooney trained prime Tyson would KO a silverback gorilla and rhino on the same day just by his presence". How much inside game did Buster have? Yet he beat Mike quite convincingly. Oh yeah I forgot, Tyson was already out of his prime at age 23 (!). Usyk would just use his superior lateral footwork, spear-jab and counterpunches to outwork Mike... By round 4 Mike would be exhausted chasing Usyk around, trying to swing for the KO. Usyk would also be stronger in the clinch.
1. If you’ve followed the thread, it would not read that way at all. 2. How ironic of you, seeing the rest of the rubbish that you’ve wrote. Now what you have written, is just as ignorant as what you THINK that I’ve written. James Douglas had a great jab. It was huge. He had a huge reach. Douglas was a very capable fighter. He was just inconsistent, where he underachieved. He also had a version of Mike in front of him, who had just turned up and gone through the motions. Now if you’d bothered to read the thread, I said that that Usyk hasn’t got the jab, the inside game or the power needed to have beaten Mike. He didn’t have the jab of Douglas. The power of Lewis. The rough/dirty inside game of Evander. Usyk would just have used a spear jab to have outworked Mike? That doesn’t even make sense. Mike would have driven forward at every opportunity. Usyk’s jab wouldn’t have done anything. He couldn’t have done anything in order to have found any time and space, or to have stopped or deterred Mike from pouring forward. He had nothing to have kept him off. He would have been forced back into defensive positions. Usyk is a technician with limited power. He’s not big. Not rough and dirty. Not powerful. His style and attributes isn’t built to handle a Mike Tyson. What you’ve written is pure garbage. You imply that I’m being biased, yet you then say that Mike would have been exhausted after 4 rounds, where he’d have just been swinging for a knockout. Laughable. Mike didn’t just swing wildly for a knockout. He didn’t have to knock out an opponent to win. There’s also no reason to question his stamina and claim that he’d have been gassed after 4 rounds. Also, why would he have been gassed after 4 rounds of backing Usyk up? Silly. We saw him have enough of a tank in order to have a 12 round war with Ruddock. No, I’m not comparing Usyk to Ruddock. I’m just saying that apart the Douglas fight, his fitness and stamina were never seriously questioned.
