Very good. Maybe not elite, but probably a level below. He took a while to settle into his own, but at his peak he could move well, had explosive power and a unique/unorthodox style with the switch hitting. His fight with Lovemore N'dou was really entertaining and he showcased a lot of his skills against an iron chinned opponent in that fight.

He was very good, I’d say he was elite, depending on your definition of elite. I liked watching him

    Good fighter, spiteful power.

I think his peak was was 2004-5, a couple of years before his run as WBC champion.

Real shame he never fought Hatton.

Had he landed the punches Eamonn Magee landed he might have won though I think Ricky probably would win a controversial decision.

I don't think he would've beaten Hatton. I can't get over how he lost every second to Judah.

    I'm not so sure.

    Hatton had difficulties vs southpaws.

Pacquiao I can forgive but he's a unique ATG southpaw.

But Hatton showed alot of vulnerablities vs Magee, Collazo.

I think Witter's awkward switch hitting style where he could fight out of the southpaw stance at times would give Hatton alot of problems.

Witter was world class. Cast from the Ingle Gym archetype.

A fast, unorthodox switch hitter, he was very awkward and powerful.

My only criticisms of Witter were that he often seemed to be taking risks for the sake of looking flashy and his output was really quite low.

At world level his risk taking cost him rounds. That is, despite him being able to suppress the work of other top fighters, he would, at the same time, offer too many opportunities for his opponents to break through with work that stood out.

I think Witter would probably go on survival mode after a few rounds.

I think Witter would have given Hatton serious problems for a few rounds and probably even dropped him but Hattons workrate and intensity would have put Witter into negative mode and Hatton would have won a UD.

Nice bit of clowning by Hatton in the ring.
