Also, in an ideal world with one belt, Usyk would lose the belt as soon as he ducked his mandatories (Wardley and Kabayel) and fought a kickboxer instead.

 

Kellerman is shilling for Turki who owns 60% of ZUFFA in shares.

 

Good point but I think in Foster terms that was one of his better stoppages. That particular stoppage only gets called out because Froch was hurt early but allowed to continue. It wsn't that dissimilar to Castillo-Corrales.

I said the same thing this is why i don't get why people write off Wardley in a rematch.

All Wardley did after scoring the early knockdown was load up trying to wing right hands. He didn't set up the right hand behind the jab at all and he wore himself out after like 5 rounds missing with wild swings.

And even Dubois who's no boxing wizard was able to easily evade those windmill right hands after the 3rd round.

Unless Wardley's punch resistance is shot now I think he has a chance to win a rematch. If Wardley just set ups his right hand a bit better behind the jab he can definitely score a stoppage.

I mean he had Dubois on the floor twice and at one point Dubois was looking at his corner.

Yes Dubois showed some heart getting up from 2 knockdowns. But he wasn't consistently taking punches throughout the fight.

If Wardley can land that right hand more often then we'll see what Dubois is made of.

 

I agree. He has a decent jab of his own when he wants to use it, and it's not a major adjustment to make.

 

Fabio actually landed som big uppercuts and shots that Dubois ate - because Dubois had the momentum. As has already been pointed out, Dubois will absorb punishment if he's confident he can excel.

But yeah, if Fabio applies a better strategy he can potentially TKO/KO Dubois in a rematch... Primarily more jabs to the body, like he did vs Parker. Jab, Jab, Jab...

I don't see him landing the right hand that much more often.
Dubois' jab was brilliant, stopping wardley in his tracks each time he wanted to punch. Having found that timing, he will be able to get it back in the rematch much sooner. Won't be fun for wardley...

Many saw wardley winning the first time and Don't seem to accept the first fight as a correction of that opinion. At least everyone should see dubois as clear favorite right now. And yes he can take wardleys punches. Like he walked back to his corner from usyks monsterpunch, while a weaker punch of usyk's had fury out on his feet for half a Minute

 

Dubois's jab didn't stop Wardley from throwing because Wardley was constantly throwing the right hand over and over.

So there was plenty of opportunities where Wardley got chances to throw his punches.

The issue was Wardley was so predictable and wild with his right hand and didn't set it up at all. He tired himself out after 5 rounds and then Dubois busted him up from that point on.

So no I don't think Dubois could take Wardley's right hand if he's able to land it more consistently. The only real two flush right hands Wardley landed had Dubois on the floor and looking at his corner at one point.

So logic tells you if Wardley is able to set the right hand up better behind the jab. And have more of a gameplan rather than swinging for the fences he has a chance to win.

I also don't see how Dubois voluntarily staying down for the 10 count vs Usyk. Is supposed to show that Dubois could consistently take right hand shots from Wardley ?
