With about 10 fights in HW? I doubt it.
Even if it's about 10 wins over: Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson, Norton...

On the contrary, Holmes has benefitted from a massive re-writing of history. Lots of people would have liked a Norton or Witherspoon rematch.

Rematches are part of the sport, and ideally, they become troliogies, though not always. Without rematches, we would not have the great series of...

    Ali-Norton
    Ali-Frazier
    Leonard-Duran
    Zale-Graziano
    Lamotta-Robinson
    Saddler-Pep

    To name a few.

Evander was on the downside. Vitali was indeed a good win. I said a lot of his wins have not aged well, and named some of the guys.

It is all right that he has only fought six heavies. It's all he needed to trounce the #2, #3, and #4 guy of the post-Klit era, twice each. He is undoubtedly the best heavy that competed from 2015-2026. That makes him great.

Nobody has said that he isn’t great.

But nobody is ever going to be ranked that highly, based off of only fighting 6/7 HW’s.

We don't have to speculate how Usyk would've fared against more than 6 HWs because literally every fighter he's fought as a pro is a HW by the standards of Ali's and Joe Louis' eras and not only that every single one of the fighters he's fought as a pro was bigger than many of the HWs they fought

And almost all the HWs he's fought are much or way bigger than then the HWs Ali fought so by the exact same logic it's pure speculation to speculate how Ali would've fared against the SHW giants the size of the ones Usyk has fought. You can't suddenly change the rules and say ''but''

Again, the 2nd biggest HW Ali ever fought is smaller than the 2nd smallest one Usyk ever fought and the biggest one Ali ever fought was a out of shape 6'3'' HW with a 76'' reach

    This content is protected

And the SHW giants Louis fought were slow and unathletic Frankenstein's monsters who didn't even know how to use their range. Usyk is fighting skilled athletic SHW giants

Also, Usyk fought 6 SHW giants in the WSB under semi-pro rules and half of them were some of the world's best SHWs, including a 3 x World Amateur champion and an Olympic silver medalist

    And they weighed from 233lbs-277lbs

So even the lightest one was bigger than the 2nd biggest HW Ali ever fought

So that means Usyk has been in a ring with HWs who weighed between 233lbs-280lbs 14 times and never vs anyone who weighed less than 193, only x 2 vs opponents who weighed less than 197

And Ali has been in the ring with ones who weigh more than 230lbs x 1 and with ones who weigh less than 193 like x 16 and less than 198 like 24 times or so, including many in the 180s and even some in the 170s

    That's 24 times in 61 fights

But one of them lacks fights against HWs

And both Ali and Louis were badly hurt or badly hurt and almost KO'd by fighters much smaller than every fighter Usyk has fought, like 22-30lbs smaller than them and like 12-25lbs smaller than every fighter Usyk has ever fought

And is Usyk is the only fighter in history who is better when past or way past his prime than he was in the midst of it?

He was already four months away from turning 35 when he won his first HW title(s) and 37 when he became undisputed and is currently the 4th oldest HW champion of all time, the 3rd oldest unified one, and the oldest ever undisputed one and if he wins on Saturday he will very likely move up that list to the #3 spot (the #3 oldest HW champion of all time) by the next time he fights

He was much faster, more agile, with much sharper reflexes and reaction times back in his prime than he is now and has been for many years and all these HWs he's fought in world title fights as a pro are younger or much younger than him too and if he was fighting in most previous eras he wouldn't have to bulk up to 221-225lbs because, duh, he wouldn't be facing 233-280lbs SHW giants or ones who were actually athletic, skilled and fast for their size

It's not possible for him to become the GOAT at heavyweight with the amount of fights he has left (a few according to him)

He should be, though, because unlike guys like Holmes, who never unified, or Holy, who never had a long title reign, or Bowe, who never fought most of the best, Usyk has done all three. It is a testament to how great Usyk is that he has done more than some of the greats in so few fights.

And when you say "nobody," what you mean is you and the five other haters on here. The entire REAL boxing community and most of those on here understand that he is one of the best to have ever done it.

I don’t see how size is the main determinant of quality of opposition.

on any historical list, would Fury or Joshua rank as highly as Foreman? Not a chance. Foreman is top 10 hw all time on 90 percent of boxing fans heavyweight list. No reasonable case can be made for Joshua or Fury to be top 10 all time heavyweights.

there are many many other criteria for quality of opposition other than the sheer size.

I rank Usyk as a top 10 all time heavyweight to be fair but he has no reasonable case for a top 5 spot just yet

But I never said it was. I'm specifically referring to Usyk only having fought 5 HWs and 8 fights at HW, or 6 HWs if you count one of the guys he fought in his 9th fight who weighed 207lbs and therefore being less proven at HW when literally every fighter he's fought as a pro would not only be a HW in the eras of what most people consider to be the 2 best HWs of all time but were generally the same size as the HWs they fought, or bigger or much bigger than many of the ones they fought and every HW he's fought are bigger, much or way bigger than almost all the HWs Ali fought and the SHW giants Louis fought are unathletic Frankenstein's monsters

Apparently if Usyk turned pro when he was younger and moved up to HW when he was in the midst of his prime when he was faster, more agile, with razor sharp reflexes and reaction times he wouldn't have done better than the past prime version from 35-38 y/o did. I mean it's not like we saw him in his prime vs SHWs in the WSB when he was very noticeably faster, more agile, with much sharper reflexes or reaction times or anything and all his attributes caused them fits

So if that's speculation then by that same logic Ali vs SHW sized HWs the size of the ones Usyk fought is also pure speculation considering the 2nd biggest fighter Ali fought would be the smallest HW Usyk has fought and the biggest HW Ali fought was out of shape 6'3'' HW with a 76'' reach

And it's also conveniently ignored that whilst Usyk has only fought at HW 8 times he's fought the champs or #1 or #2 rated contenders in all his world title fights at the weight sans Dubois 1 who was his mandatory and even though these other great HWs have many more fights at HW they also fought a lot of bums or journeymen.

If Usyk had fought at HW x 20 instead of x 8 but with the rest being made up of bums, journeymen, or Chazz Witherspoon level guys would it make his HW resume more impressive?

He's fighting Rico next who is way bigger than anyone Ali fought including height, weight, and reach. Is Rico worse than the bums the other HW greats fought on their way up?

And it's also conveniently ignored that Usyk is 39 y/o and became undisputed at HW when he was past his prime and champions in their mid to late 30s are generally not as active as ones in their 20s and early 30s, let alone if their country was invaded and has been at war throughout most of their reigns

And him having to rematch AJ and Belly is being used as a weapon to discredit him when those rematches were not made to benefit him (quite the opposite, in fact) but rather to right the wrong of him throwing a big spanner in the works of the plans to make the ''biggest fight in boxing history.''

Holmes not unifying is only an issue if you value belts over competition. Plenty of guys Usyk hasn't fought are better than Holmes co champions belts or no.

Pinklon Thomas is the only outstanding opponent he missed out on but he only emerged towards the end of Holmes reign similar to Itauma

Holyfield wasn't considered to be on the downside when he fought Lewis.

Holyfield was ranked as the number 1 Heavyweight and had beaten the likes of Tyson x2, Moorer.

People get caught up Serge. If we re speaking factually Usyk has done nothing for boxing compared to Ali. Even Tyson, Floyd and Pac combined can’t compare.

In terms of pure skills Usyk does everything better than Ali.
