'The Colonel' Bob Sheridan - who else loves his commentating?

Yea Im a Big Sheridan fan

 

he is the face of boxing, I wish he would replace the boring Jim Lampley on HBO.

 

He was awesome. Him amd I think it was Leddermen who were brilliant. Tessitore sucks that boring ****.

 

decent commentator but my friend sent me a clip from a few years ago where he was commentating a small card and was talking about bimbos and the n word and he said he had to shoot several men, very strange

Apparently some guys stopped him on the road and he did them.
And he had close ties to IRA.

But yeah a great commenator.Could make any fight seem a championship fight.

 

I was confused by the comments until I realized this thread is 15 years old.

I guess Sheridan fell off pretty bad. He was getting ripped to shreds by the end.

 

The Colonel has 2 separate commentaries for Tyson vs Holmes. Much easier to sound great calling the action when you already know in advance how a fight unfolds. Hindsight is everything.

 

Agreed. He also has two commentaries for the Douglas/Tyson fight.

I used to like him a lot but now not so much.

 

I love his commentary. I'm sure you could point to some bad ones, but no ones perfect. I'll never forget his commentary for Tua vs Cameron. "Shane's in a heap of trouble!".
