its so inconsistent in boxing... you can be on Bambi legs for 15 seconds wobbling around the ring like Fury in Usyk 1 and get a standing count or you can be on the ropes in trouble but nothing landing like Parker v Wardley and it get waved.

 

He was heavier for this fight so a bit slower. But mainly struggled badly because the opponents right hand was a danger and his punches/strength we,re tiring usyk because he was on something imo.

Running round the ring faster....would have just tired him out more. He knew he just needed to get inside but was struggling with it because he had to watch out for that right hand.

 

Rico is a standup guy and i don't believe he is on peds.
And i am not saying that because i am dutch 2

Thing is a lot of heavyweight fighters who don't put in the work, and i thk Usyk didn't take him seriously

Rico isn't on peds Usyk is just off cycled his

After a performance like that, and with history tapping his shoulder, Rico should have been given the chance to hear the final bell...AND Usyk should have been given the chance to finish the fight with a degree of certitude. That kind of decision robs both fighters.

I luv it when guys dismiss Kabayel.

The guy has proven his chin like few others. He's taken big shots from some of the division's heaviest sluggers -- Chisora, Mahmudov, Sanchez and Zhang -- who, yes, even in his 40s is still a threat to most of the division. Kabayel took a full-on, flush-to-the-side-of-the-head Zhang hook that would have flattened most HWs, and he got right back up and proceeded to cripple Zhang to the body.

Kabayel's earned a shot at those belts like no one else in the division.

If Usyk fights Rico again before facing Kabayel (and why was Turki pushing that re-match so aggressively?), then Kabayel deserves an immediate shot at least at Dubois' belt. Anything else would be robbery.

 

I'll be astonished if Hearn isn't trying to set it up as we speak.

I think this is a bit much. It was Usyk standing over Rico, not the other way around like in the fury debacle.

 

The second part could well be true. Dont believe that first part tho. That strength/power and stamina wasnt natural. He bounced about for 11 rounds at 18.5 stone in a new sport against the best heavyweight in the world and didnt tire. His punch power also didnt slow down from the first to the last round.
