Naoya Inoue is CLEARLY P4P #1 and an ATG boxer

Think about this: if Usyk was Inoue equivalent in terms of activity and dominance lately then he would have destructive elite performances over guys like Kabayel, Wardley, Itauma, Zhang etc within an 18 month period, or thereabouts. Not even mentioning that the level of actual boxing ability is simply better in the lower weights.

Inoue's insane consistency + elite performances + beating another ranked p4p makes him number 1. There's also the fact that Usyks next bout is possibly the worst heavyweight title bout ever decided on paper. By the time Usyk fights an actual dangerous opponent again (if he does) we'll be getting on for 2 years post Dubois!

 

I think this is fair ranking.

On recent form and activity, yes Inoue is #1. The further you go back the closer it becomes. Total resume, including amateurs, probably Usyk, but close.

 

I must apologise, it's clear after tonight than Inoue must be rated higher on the p4p list than Usyk.

 

Today just proves that Inoue is clearly the #1 P4P king.

 

Does Max Kellerman still side with Usyk, or does he need another 100 years to pass?

 

OK, thought experiment. Have Inoue fight Nick Diaz in a boxing match, look like ****, get dropped, and hold on for a split decision win. Is he now also a disgrace to the sport of boxing or are fighting men of all colors and styles simply fighting men and a day's chance may change fortunes in a way that decades of training didn't foresee?

 

Inoue is great but his chin is too suspect for me. Usyk I’m confident will win no matter what
