Maybe Rico is extremely good at recovering from being knocked down....in, at most, five round kickboxing fights. This was the 11th round of an extremely fast paced boxing match. He wasn't going to do much, if any, recovering. He got an eternity from the ref after losing the mouthpiece and still had nothing for Usyk in the corner. Sixty seconds on the stool was just going to give Usyk enough gas to send him to the hospital in the 12th.

He won the fight by stoppage, so that is literally not true.

Apparently he used to spar Fury heaps and admitted himself that he got demolished every time so it's unlikely.
    39 going on 40 actually

This. Also Rico was much better than expected.

Shoe on the other foot and there's no way the ref waves Usyk off. It was an atrocious stoppage.

Usyk was given five minutes after Dubois knocked him out with a legal body blow, so the least they could've done was give Rico one.

Yet Fury kept inviting him back, because he was such a good sparring partner, sounds like humility from Rico. Fury wouldn't keep bringing back a bum that didn't give him hard rounds to prepare for his fights.

It's pretty wild to me that people are treating this like Usyk looked poor against a fringe top 10 guy, and refusing to address the elephant in the room that he was getting outboxed by a kickboxer with a pro boxing record of 1-0. It's nearly impossible to put into words just how embarrassing it is for the sport.

A 1-0 kickboxer could have been 3 minutes away from becoming the WBC and Ring Magazine HW world champion if he had been given a minute to recover and managed to avoid anything heavy in round 12. That's where we're at now - a ****ing laughing stock of a sport.

On the other hand let's say he gets stopped by a barrage in those fifteen mouthpiece out seconds, people will be saying the guy is naive and could've bought some time spitting the guard out, he was stupid. So he did the right thing when rocked and gave himself every chance to be allowed out for round 12 but take a point off. The ref just didn't comply. That also shows he had his wits about him too, so it's another reason the ref made a bad call.
