They sanctioned the fight surely that’d be a great look for them ‘see, we knew he was a worthy challenger and nobody else did!’ He would pay the sanctioning fee as well.

29 seconds elapsed from the moment Rico hit the canvas to the ref waving the fight back on but the referee waving the fight off slightly after the bell when Rico was still badly hurt and completely defenceless even after all that time is the huge controversy.

Had the ref even just given Rico a couple less seconds to recover, let alone 5, 10 or more there would've been no controversy at all because Rico was getting legit knocked out before the bell or saved by the ref before Usyk did so

That's twice a referee has robbed Usyk of a KO win or a more conclusive stoppage win in the space of 4 fights

And for all the Usyk has only fought 6 opponents at HW brigade it's happened against 1/3 of all of his opponents at that weight which has got to be some kind of record and when he was 37 and 39 y/o and long past his prime vs younger giants who absolutely dwarfed him

How many times did Lewis, Ali, Wlad, Vitali, Bowe, Foreman in their primes to name but a few ever give away that kind of size advantage, or even close to it, or the kind of size advantage Usyk has routinely been doing at HW when past or long past his prime in his mid to late 30s?

I don't mean to belabor a point, but this is correct.

That s all a conclusion set in stone by boxing fans, who never saw his kickboxing career. He was dropped, hurt badly and wabbly many times in his career, but his recover- and comeback abitlies were always very good. The boxing fans can try to slice that around as much they want, people who are used to get kicked in the head dont need to be afraid for getting punched in the face. Rico tasted boxing gloves, knees, shins and feet on his head, and he mostly took it.

Bard Hari was one of the Kickboxers with the most KO ratio with very strong punches and kicks, he hurt Rico very much but Rico survived:

Usyk doesnt have more KO power in boxing as Hari in kickboxing. Hari s punching power isnt as good as Usyk s but not much worser (he KOed K-1 dominator Sem SChilt just with punches).

    Schilt def Rico:

    Hari KOes Schilt:

PS: To makt that clear: A 100% Usyk defeates Rico in boxing without any problems. The 2021 version of him who fought AJ in their first fight eats Rico up without much effort. I am just talking about last night when Usyk was far away from his 100%.

I never put any stock in these ‘he’d have been knocked out anyway’ arguments. No one would’ve expected fury to last the distance after getting battered from pillar to post by Usyk in rnd 9. You truly never know

Result should be changed to a no contest and a rematch ordered pronto.

I thought he was finished but at the same time I knew he had an amazing ability to absorb punishment and somehow restore himself to a calm state again, Marquez is one of the only other fighters I've seen do that.

It's simply a disgraceful stoppage. Anyone trying to justify it should give their head a wobble.

This is all completely irrelevant. The ref decides when the fighter has had enough for his safety. He is not required to study the fighters history and factor it in.

    DEFEND YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES.

    It isn't a hard concept.

Could it not influence a referee though if he is aware a fighter has gotten up and fought through serious adversity where some refs would have stepped in earlier out of compassion and concern? Or if there’d been uproar that a fight close to that time or associated in one of the combatants past had gone on by perception too long or been stopped prematurely? They are supposed to be impartial but they aren’t robots so it’s possible it can come into their minds in those seconds of decision.

How often do Ref's wave fights off after the bell? Can you find some examples?

When 95% of viewers think the judges cards are crap that is pretty good evidence of corruption especially when we know boxing is famous for judges favoring the A side historically. You would have to be the most naive person in the world to not understand Usyk was the clear A side in this fight.

Pretending everyone is delusional and there is nothing controversial to see here is laughable.

Also referencing the ref giving Rico extra time for the mouthpiece is not relevant because he had no choice to do that with a break in the action from the knockdown. It is standard stuff.

Was about to post similar. Rico has great recuperative powers and Usyk is not a heavy puncher. Both fighters were robbed. Personally I don't see the need for a rematch. I think a fit, focused Usyk wins comfortably and suspect both athletes know this...but we are taking about last nights fight, anomalous as it was, and there should have been a 12th round. No question for me

    A. Doesn't matter how many times refs have stopped a guy at or after the bell. The fact is the ref has the ability to do that. People are acting like it was some corrupt robbery, when in reality it was just yet another British ref screwing up.

    B. Boxing is subjective. A zillion people can see a fight a zillion different ways. You're a pathetic Usyk hate watcher so you think the scorecards were wrong. Cool. The argument that is being put forth is that the cards being wrong categorically proves there was a fix and that the fight was rigged. That's complete nonsense. This isn't Canelo v. Bivol where Bivol is winning every round and the judges are just ticking off round after round for Canelo. One of the judges had Rico up by two rounds and the other two judges had it even. Those are perfectly acceptable scorecards. I've seen numerous boxing talking heads claiming they had it almost exactly how the judges did from Chris Algieri to Dan Rafael to Chris Mannix, etc. How on God's green Earth are you going to claim corruption when they had the kickboxer ahead on one of the cards? If Rico doesn't suffer a KD in that fight he has a good chance to win it on the cards. Not the judges fault he completely fell apart in the championship rounds. The mark of an elite championship fighter is being tough when it matters at the end of a fight. Rico failed.

    C. Where have I pretended everyone is delusional? You little trolls have been creaming your pants and screaming at the top of your lungs since the fight finished. I've just been trying to temper that idiocy with some logic and reason.

    D. And again, YDKSAB. The ref absolutely has a choice on whether to stick the mouthpiece back in or not. ESPECIALLY AFTER A GUY SPITS IT OUT MULTIPLE TIMES. And again, this stupid argument of yours is actually bad for your case, dude. It completely misses the point that if this fight was truly rigged against Rico then the ref would never have tried to put the mouthpiece back in. He'd have given Rico a count and then said get back to it. Or he'd have even docked him points for spitting the mouthpiece out. Did the ref do those things? No. He gave Rico a nice back massage, escorted him to the corner like helping a little old lady cross the street,. and then fanned him off and fed him bonbons until Rico was well enough to go back and get his ass kicked some more. Hardly the actions of a man desperate to keep Rico from winning that fight!

Now, please. Go away. You're boring. And your shtick is old and tired at this point. We get it. Usyk stole your highschool sweetheart and then banged her and your mum right in front of you on the kitchen table. Sucks man, but you gotta let stuff like that go. It's eating you up and turning you into this horrible person. Set yourself free, my guy.
