When I saw the title of this thread I thought (much to my delight) that it was confirmed. But you watch the video and you learn it's not -- only that Mauricio Sulaiman has confirmed that Kabayel is Usyk's mandatory.

So the big question is: If Usyk agrees first to rematch Rico -- or takes on some other BS $$ fight -- will WBC strip him?

Nothing confirmed as of yet, just the WBC ordering Usyk to fight Kabayel.

Hopefully happens in the autumn at least.

Turki wants it to happen so I think it will. And I think we will see an in shape Usyk with a point to prove.

And if it does happen, I hope it takes place in September; no reason to drag it out.

I think Agit is tailor made for Usyk to be honest...When you have to go and find Usyk that's when you're in trouble. Maybe i'm underestimating how well Agit can use his jab but Usyk will move on you and force you to reset constantly which Agit doesn't like to do. Probably will come with pressure out the gate, be successfull against a wary Usyk but mid fight onwards he will slow and then it's a Usyk free for all...but hey maybe he can do some damage early.

If Usyk wasn't playing games vs Verhoeven, he needs to retire asap.

Not picking old, demotivated, 40 year old Usyk against a hungry contender.

I think he's finished. If you go from training 100% for every single fight of your life to suddenly 60% at 39 years old, it's over.

I'm thinking Usyk puts on a dominant performance, but he needs to come in lighter and use what's left of that footwork/speed!

People need to remember that Kabayel's resume isn't anywhere near as deep as Usyk's, even if we only compared their heavyweight fights. There's a huge gap between putting it on fighters like Mahkmudov and Zhang compared to someone who doesn't stand still in front of you.

Here's hoping it actually happens next instead of a Rico rematch. I'm of the belief that Usyk had a bad off night but he's someone that I can see preparing better against Kabayel. Time will tell if Usyk still has what it takes to hang in there with the top HWs right now.

Kabayel's only chance would be KO from what I've seen of him.

Usyk outclasses and batters the big fat slow kebabyal and everyone remembers why kebabyal ducked every top fighter for ten years.
