Could Jerry Quarry have made light-heavyweight?

    No prime Quarry was in the mid 190's 175 would be a bit too low, now Cruiserweight would have been perfect for him had it existed.

    No. Even when Quarry started his pro career he was solid and trim at 185 lbs.

    No, in fact he complained that getting down to 190 left him weak and blamed that for his stamina issues.

    If he were fighting today, it's likely. With day before weigh ins and modern weight cutting techniques, he could weigh 175 at the weigh in and be 195 in the ring.

    With same day weigh in, less likely.

    I think Quarry ended up resembling the Billy Tully character in "Fat City" played by Stacy Keach.

    His brother was just about as good at LHW as he was at HW. So you don't really want two brothers in the same division if it can be helped. In this case it could be helped.

    No Jerry could not. His brother lacked the punch to be as good as Jerry.
