Bivol is Bivol and always will be. You have to pressure him and make him understand that something is on the line to get him to step up and take risks and that was never going to happen tonight. Eifert is a pretty solid German domestic level fighter but he was never going to stretch Bivol

some guys are like that. Bivol doesn’t mess with success. If it’s working, he’ll just keep doing it. He knew he was winning every round cleanly and easily.

Beterbiev would never let a guy he was outclassing like that see the final bell.

Bivol needs a great opponent to really shine. Great technicians often are often less than scintillating against lesser opponents.

He could've got the stoppage if he did that a round or 2 earlier.

He looked good but I think he was more flat-footed and lower volume than usual. Of course he's going to look fast and accurate when he's Eurasian and was born with mongoose reflexes, eagle sight and snake precision but I don't think he looked quite as super sharp as he usually does, not by Eurasian standards. Non-Eurasians won't understand this

I don't even think he really got in gear, never mind out of first. He was in neutral the whole time. You could tell, because in 11/12 when he was getting a bit bouncier and letting his hands go a little bit, that was the only time he looked reminiscent of when he has faced world-level opposition in the past. Otherwise he was flatter and slower on his feet with less than half his usual output.

I wanted him to get a stoppage, but I can't argue with him wanting to bank the rounds. it is a little frustrating though. But I think he is still at the level we're familiar with, but it's hard to tell when you have someone as timid as Eifert trying to coax a performance out of you.

Yeah I was about to post and then, like CST, it occurred to me that such a score isn't possible. WtF

I don't know what this loquacious chick in the red dress is prattling on about.... but I don't hear "Benavidez" anywhere in here so I'm not interested....
