I assume that you haven’t seen any of those fights? Botha “won” them because Aerts and Lebanner hurt their legs and couldn’t continue.
Botha is 4-13 with 2 of those wins by injury, 1 win against a beginner and 1 win against a washed up 170lb guy, I wouldn’t call that successful.

You assume wrong. Do you know how Aerts hurt his leg against Botha? Because Botha correctly checked his low kicks. Lebanner got beaten up, the fight went to a split draw and he wasn’t able to come out for the extra round. I’ve read a French language interview with Lebanner said Botha was one of the hardest punchers he ever fought. You’re just looking at his kickboxing record on wiki with zero knowledge. Botha jumped into the deep end against some of the best kickboxers in the world with very little experience apart from infrequent sparring with SA kickboxers like Mike Bernardo and Jan Nortje and he didn’t embarrass himself. Some of those fights were very competitive and could’ve been victories like his first fight with Remy Bonjasky who was the ****ing defending k1 world Grand Prix champion.
Point is a boxer with the right style and mental attitude can absolutely defeat Verhoeven in Glory / K1 ruleset.

There is no "high level" in HW Muay Thai, its extremely niche compared to HW kickboxing, not sure why you're conflating MT and KB while trying to act like a know it all. Or why you're even arguing in the first place, frankly. A guy who never competed in kickboxing, and who competes in the UFC, is indeed "outside kickboxing", so why are we having this ******ed waste of time discussion exactly?

The idea someone like Moses couldnt knock Rico out before he stops them with kicks is fantasy imo. Should he be the favorite to win? Sure. Can a highly motived elite boxer also win? Yes. This notion he just needs to kick a boxer a couple times to win, I dont buy it personally.

Honestly most of the time that's how it'd go. The stance is vulnerable to low kicks, and if you're not conditioned to take them they will become debilitating fast for most people.

Of course the boxer will always have a punchers chance, and an exceptionally tough/durable guy might be able to absorb more low kicks than expected, but the vast majority of the time a boxer competing in kickboxing (or MMA, or Muay Thai) is going to get stopped quickly.

Thats not a slight on boxers either, its the hardest combat sport with the most talented athletes overall, but boxing on its own is not enough to reliably win fights in other forms of combat.

I get that thats the narrative, I just dont personally believe it thats all. If Moses fought Rico and he understood that he has to press Rico hard, and not stay at range, I would give him plenty of chance (like 30%) to stop Rico before kicks became a factor.

I also think someone like Tyson, Tua, Ike, Lewis, ect, have a decent chance at bombing Rico out before he stops them with kicks.

But maybe youre right. will probably be a long time until we ever find out just how helpless a boxer would really be in kickboxing.

The problem is if you try to combat the kicks by getting in close you'll then be in the clinch eating knees instead. Its very hard to maintain the perfect middle distance against someone that isnt willing to let you. Then on top of that even when you get your desired range the other guy can box a bit anyway.

I do think someone like Tua could have been a bigger problem than most boxers because of his durability. He was certainly a better athlete than a guy like Mark Hunt who did okay.

Haha, yeah I seen both, Botha didn’t check anything against Aerts. Aerts hurt himself kicking Bothas knee. They fight 100x and Aerts win 99x.
The Lebanner fight was somewhat close, it did go to an extra round that Lebanner didn’t come out for, the injury might been an excuse, idk it was a weird fight, Lebanner shouldn’t have lost that.

I’m not acting, I do know “it all” when it comes to MT and kickboxing. I competed as a pro in kickboxing, MMA and boxing. I do know the difference, something you seem to not know. Rico is not getting beat by anyone “outside” of kickboxing, or inside for that matter in a kickboxing match.

Nobody cares. You're a faceless nobody on an internet forum and your takes are dumb. You don't know about anyone elses credentials on here and anyone can claim anything anyway. Its irrelevant.

I'm not the one who conflated kickboxing and Muay Thai.

To reiterate, Gane never competed in kickboxing, he competed in HW MT and everybody who knows about these things (which you claim to) is aware that the HW MT scene is a joke pretty much. His career in it was also very brief, hes now been in MMA much longer.

All MMA fighters learn a mix of KB/MT/boxing, albeit modified for an MMA setting. Meaning they produce strikers that are capable of transferring to kickboxing more comfortably than boxers overall.

The original post I made that you replied to said "The best shot anyone outside of kickboxing would have at beating him at his own game would probably be Ciryl Gane"

what I did NOT say, is "Gane would beat Rico in a kickboxing match"

Essentially, I don't even know what the **** you're hamfistedly attempting to argue about here.

Haha, you’re mentally challenged and should not be allowed on the internet, your opinion is not only wrong but also as r*tarded as you.

Let’s see if we can make some sense of your r*tarded mind. So according to you all MMA fighters are kickboxers because they train kicking and punching, are they boxers also?

Don’t feel special, nobody is arguing with you, it’s no point in arguing with a r*tarded person that don’t understand when they are wrong.

You are absolutely arguing, the problem is your argument has zero point, there is no actual underlying statement you're trying to make, and yet you're still here spiraling the thread into stupidity and wasting both our time. Its quite impressive actually.

I am not, you’re the one that keep answering dumb nonsense, I’m just telling you that you’re wrong and that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

    Wrong about WHAT exactly?

One last time, the initial post you replied to was "The best shot anyone outside of kickboxing would have at beating him at his own game would probably be Ciryl Gane"

You've then attempted to start a several page argument about whether a guy who has never competed in kickboxing and has been in the UFC exclusively for the last 7 years can be classed as "outside of kickboxing" or not.

    What is the ****ing point?

The idea always seems to be that the boxer would not adapt to the new sport, and that they would only bring their striking with them. IMO, this is quite silly.

The point is that you’re r*tarded.

Gane came from a stand up background and is just not an MMA fighter. I bet you think Alex Periera is just an MMA fighter as well.
