What do you guys think about the most effective ways to win a street fight. What to do, what not to do? And assume that the opponent is not a bum.

The best way to win a street fight is to find out your style.
    3 Main boxing styles
Slugger, Swarmer/infighter aka pressure fighter or outboxer (outfighter)

As a swarmer inside fighter you want to fight in close range so U want to find a closer area where someone isn't able to move around.
As an outboxer, you want to fight at long range and make sure you can move freely basically find somewhere where its long range, for example an open field. keeping distance and not letting the person catch you.
Explain your style and i'll tell you

Only fools fight in the street for free. But why do they do this?

Because if they wanted to fight guys who knew how to really fight than they would be fighting in the gyms with us.

Too long a story. It depends who you're fighting, how it starts. It's too damaging because all it takes is one elbow to the head and they can die or worse.

Best to swallow your pride and walk away whenever you can. Fight in the ring if you have to prove yourself. Spar heaps before you do that too. MMA is the best to learn as it covers everything.

Slip the garbage that the street bum threw at you and counter with a sharp right hand to the jaw.

Followed immediately by hooks and right hands until he drops.

But No Chin hit the bullseye, it's best just to walk away from their tantrums.

    Follow the Quick Silver method.

    1. A man can't see he can't fight.
    2. A man can't breathe he can't fight
    3. A man can't stand he can't fight.

It's a great philosophy. 3 is kind of bull**** though because you can still fight on the ground.

Turn around, walk away, even if you know you are stronger, don't fight in the streets, people can get hurt really badly really quick, someone may actually k!ll you, or you may actually k!ll someone , one wrong step, one wrong fall to the ground and your life can slip away, one beer bottle to the head, or a stab to the abdomen

the first few seconds matter the most, but the best way to win a street fight is to not indulge, run away

Not worth it I agree. If you have to prove yourself do it in the ring. Spar. But before you spar learn all the moves. Everything. Slipping, blocking, parrying, ducking, pull, rolling, everything.

You have to be composed under pressure. Learn how to handle the fight, flight and freeze response. That's an in depth discussion.

The ones replying walk away are the ones giving the best advice.

Most streetfights now end in a blade being used or weapon, life changing those that use weapons those that receive the blows, everything is on CCTV, serve life or your life ended. Most fights are over petty ****.

Punch someone they land head off kerb and don't recover, manslaughter and you can practise your techniques 24/7 in a cell for many years.

Defend yourself if you have to home invasion or cornered but streetfighting is a mugs game.

If you need to defend yourself you have to be good at footwork. Different types of footwork. There may be times where you shuffle forward. There may be times when you come in faster like Manny Pacquaio's fast feet. You could use footwork like Vitor Belfort did again Vanderlei Silva. Like Khabib when he dropped McGregor. Once he did he sprinted at him when McGregor was on the ground. You need a variation of footwork. Not just one. Again this is just a little discussion on one subject. You have to manage and control your nervous system. Theres an interview with Ali on tv and even he shat himself when a guy got in his face surprisingly albeit a joke. This is a question not many people have been asked, not many people have answered and not many people will want to answer or will answer or know the answer.

What are you going to do at 3 o'clock in the morning, pitch black, no one else around, no one to hear or help you in the middle of nowhere when you're faced with multiple attackers who are bat **** crazy? That's what separates not boys from the men but a rare minority. That's no street fight. That's a matter of life and death. How are you going to overcome that? Especially if you haven't been in that situation. Many will freeze even with combat experience. What if you ARE in that situation. Many will say don't put yourself in it. But what if you are. The fight game or self defence game Is so in depth but the mental aspect of it is huge. Your body and mind can undergo psychological and physiological changes. You have to be able to cope and adapt to these.

The nervous system is something that has to be trained. You know what I learnt about fear? To me fear is noise. It's just Like music. Music in the back ground or in my body. But through the noise, I still operate. I work and fire and function through the noise. I don't let it control me. There's a task to do I'll do it I won't let fear stop me. If I feel fear that means for me to move and act. Not freeze which fear can make you do. Thugs and criminals want you to freeze. They want to control you. You reacting to them. I was walking alone to the gym once at 3.30 am when a drug crazed criminal in a criminal hot spot just me and him shouted out behind me " YOOOOOOOOOOU " trying to intimidate me. He expected me to turn around and look at him. To stop, freeze. Be under his control. I simply ignored him and kept walking. Didnt even turn around to look at him. But I listened for foot steps. You can bet right there and then if he ran up to me, said something again or looked to engage I would have bashed his head in without hesitation without a second thought. This thug had 20-30 kgs on me. But I wpuld have tore him to shreds. Im aware of my surroundings at all times. I been around pro boxers, street fighters, criminals, drug crazed people, crazy people you name it. It's happened before. They whistle at you too out of nowhere. They want a reaction. They think if he turns around and looks at me, he's reacted. I can get him to react. I can control him. It's what they want. You at their mercy. You reacting to them.. Focus is everything. To be able to block out everything and execute under pressure. People will try to ruin your focus in fighting and in life. I learnt to block out negative ****s in every aspect of my life. Haters will try to put you off and put you down EVERYWHERE. They want you under their control. You control you. No one else.

Most important thing in fighting and life = Be proactive. And intuition. Listen to that. You lead the dance. Don't get led.

Yep. But the law will punish you for it. It's true though. Why let some meth fuelled thug fire off first if he's going to. Wait and be killed?

    I don't think so.
