Bert Cooper vs Oscar Bonavena

Early rounds favour Bert , Bonevana was hittable and Cooper could crack.
But over 12 or 15 I'd lean towards Oscar .
His stamina and experience against elite heavyweight s and incredible toughness would likely wear Cooper down in a battle.
Bonevana was accustomed to surviving wars with the best of his era.

 

I've just been watching a bunch of music videos and my brain interpreted that as "Alice Cooper vs Bonavena" and I thought, damn, Oscar's got this! But Bert? Ehhh, that's a difficult assignment. Bring in the Cooper that had that war with Mercer and Bonavena might be in trouble.

These guys should have gotten double pay for this one. Compare Ray's face at the start of the fight to the end of it. He earned every red cent:

If Bert Cooper is in decent condition
I'll take him to pull a mild upset. That short inside right hand would have Ringo buzzing.

 

Cooper from the Mercer bout most definitely. Anything less than that effort I doubt it.

 

That fight was an absolute banger!

 

He knocks Cooper out, even Bonavena would beat him, Cooper was a dangerous test, not he's lost to too many guys to be favored here

 

Bonavena by 5th round Kayo.

 

Bonavena to outlast him and potentially stop him after losing the early rounds.

 

It would be a slugfest to the bitter end. I kinda like Bonavena. He took Frazier the distance twice and gave him good fights

 

Neither Bert nor Oscar were Richard Dunn.

 

Bonavena dropped a superior version of Cooper in Frazier twice.

And then went 15 rounds with a prime Frazier in a rematch.

If Bonavena can be competitive and go the distance twice with a way better version of Cooper who isn't that much bigger than Frazier.

Then I see no reason Bonavena couldn't win this fight by outlasting Cooper with his durability and rough tactics.

 

I just picture Bert losing this fight. I can't picture Cooper losing at all. Except that one time...oh and that other time.
