Should Usyk fight Itauma before retiring?

I don't want to see Gassiev. Usyk already beat him. Similar situation with Sanchez with Kabayel beating him. It's Kabayel, then Itauma (if Itauma becomes mandatory).

 

Personally, I have no interest in another Rico fight. To be honest, I didn’t have interest in the first one. If he is going to fight Rico, that’s fine but it shouldn’t be a title fight. He should have never had a shot at the title to begin with and certainly doesn’t deserve another before deserving fighters even get one chance.

 

He dosent need to fight itauma but he needs to stop ducking Kabayel

This is why boxing is dead, the opportunity is there but it won’t happen.
Usyk is over the hill but still very good, Itauma is just warming up but already good enough. Be shocked if it did happen.

 

I think he probably should. Only because outside of kabayel theres pretty much no one else to beat and nothing else to prove. Hes beat Fury, Joshua and Dubois twice already. Dubois finished off Wardleys calls for a fight. Zhang and Joyce too old. Parker serving a ban. Wilder looks like hes finished.

Beat Kabayel and Moses and hes pretty much untouchable.

Apart from the Rico debacable anyway. I reckon he needs to just write that off as one of them things.

He,ll be 40 against Moses. Its a fair age. I m pretty certain hes at the point whatever happens now wont really impact his historical standing negatively. Its a win/win situation in terms of historical standing. Win and it further cements himself as a great. Lose and in fairness hes not far off 40 years old. No ones historical standing should really take into account losses at 40 against say a 23 year old.

 

No Itauma fight ! Usyk should have retired after the Dubois rematch,now after the Rico fall out he has to fight again to redeem himself,so it’s either the ordered WBC Kabayel fight or he drops the belt and rematches Rico .

 

No. He really doesn't have to fight Kabayel if we're being honest. His legacy is already set.

 

A lot of people aren't putting him in the all-time top 10 so his legacy isn't set IMO. If he beats Kabayel and Itauma the naysayers don't have much of a leg to stand on.

Old Usyk beating Itauma down the road while Itauma is in his prime and maybe even holds a title could turn out a sweet victory like Mayweather had over young Canelo (one of Mayweather's finest performances), it could age like fine wine.

I would like to see Itauma establish himself as a strong force and maybe even beat someone like Fury/Joshua/Dubois before getting his shot at the undisputed crown with Usyk.

 

The next "dangerous opponent" will always be around the corner, let's imagine he beats Kabayel and Itauma, hell it could be Gassiev looking spectacular in his next fights and everyone would scream for a rematch with the new powerful version of Gassiev and "unfinished business".

Or Benavidez moves up to heavy in the next year. People are already picking Benavidez fast hands to solve the Usyk puzzle.

I have never seen anyone go out on top without a demand for a new challenger

 

If he gets past Hrgovic in impressive style the clamor will be build - I don't think Usyk needs to fight Moses. Kaybayel and out would be a fine end to his career.

Itauma is in a tricky spot he wont get Usyk in the ring with his current record and profile. Beat Hrgovic and his hype goes up but he's not an AJ, he seems a bit dour, mumbles he's a hard sell to a casual audience.
