He’d get blasted out much quicker. He didn’t have the style to trouble Foreman, he wasn’t a great mover and had an average defence at best. He was only effective at the top level when he could put a dent in his opponent. He had decent combinations and punch selection, and did so off of the jab quite well, and was decent on the inside. But considering his size, defence and chin at HW, he’d be no match for Foreman.
They fought twice, I assume the version from fight 1? He was still a touch green in the rematch but improving fast.
Jones most likely takes a decision off Foreman. Jones when he was still at his best had mobility, sneaky counters, and could punch with both hands. Saddler would’ve never matched Foreman with Jones at this stage in Foreman’s career.
Foreman would have still been a prospect during the proposed time frame. But that monstrous punching power was already there and I don’t think Jones had the best chin. Leaning towards foreman
