Supporting two fighters locking out a whole division for two years to have their own personal trilogy which was years past its use by date in the first place is laughable. Everything wrong with boxing.
For me it's always a positive thing when two champions like this fighting, but I have to say that they met a few years late. Both became world champions in 2017 and faced each other for the first time in 2024. A third fight in 2026, when one of the two fighters is 41 and hasn't fought in over a year, inevitably loses its appeal, at least in my eyes. If it actually happens I see Bivol as the favorite. I think he knows and has learned to handle Beterbiev well, and I doubt that by the end of 2026, he will be able to do anything better than the match he saw in February 2025.
