Is this an unpopular opinion around here ? I think Roy smokes him like a cigarillo. People say Roy was chinny but he didn't show any chin problems until he was 35+ and he was good at blocking shots on the ropes and Beterbievs rabbit punching would have jones firing quick counters from angles that Beterbiev, Andre Ward and Bivol could only dream of and he had faster feet than anyone Arturs ever been in the ring with. Roy has a fast jab and I think he cracks him with a leaping left hook before forcing a stoppage

Roy wasn’t a natural LHW, and wasn’t quite the puncher he was at 160/168.

That said, he’d be favoured in the vast majority of fantasy fights at 175.

He’d probably be too quick for Beterbiev, but there’s an argument that he would be the best opponent he faced at 175, so that has to be factored in.

Yeah, Beterbiev often leaves himself wide open when punching (has gotten hurt and dropped over it too) and is just generally very basic. Well schooled, but basic as ****. Punching power aside (and he won't land much anyway, at least not anything significant), he has absolutely nothing to worry Jones.

Slower, very predictable, average chin, high guard defence when pressuring that is begging for the Jones left hook. It's like asking Jones to piece him up. Horrendous match up for Beterbiev. Could very well lead to a stoppage.

Roy had a quick jab - wouldn't be a factor against Beterbiev - can't remember him using much - lead left hook being his punch of choice.

He makes Artur look like molasses

Michalczewski wasnt leaving Germany to you can just as easily say he ducked Jones. The fact is neither would budge so the blame for that fight not happening falls squarely on both of them.
