Just a weird thread idea that I had in my mind. Basically which is the goat name in boxing. Like which first name would you consider the most dominant in boxing history. For example the name Jack you've got dempsey(both of them), Johnson, Dillon etc.

Unless i am going off my rocker i think everyone has misunderstood the thread ask.

If we go Ray to get the ball rolling we have Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Ray Seales, Mercer, Mancini etc

To go harder we have (Joe) Louis, Frazier, Walcott x 2, Gans, Calzaghe, Maxim, Girdello, Brown, Gamache

If we expand from the many examples of Tyson in the thread (Mike) we can get McCallum, Weaver, McTigue, and expanding that to "Micheal" we get Moorer, Spinks, Carbajal, Watson, Nunn., etc

Not many for Wladimir i dare say.

I'm thinking deep dives into Rocky, Charlie and Max would garner a few good shouts too. I've avoided "Sugar" because a lot of them weren't a legal name at a guess.

Nah you're not off your rocker.

George is just drunk at his girlfriend's party, probably didn't read it correctly and said Mike Tyson. White Bomber just wants to glaze Tyson so he also said Tyson. I said "**** it why not" and also said Tyson because it'd be funny if all answers here were Tyson, and then Seamus ruined it by saying Wlad.

Now delete your post and say Mike Tyson

Don has a few mentions. King, Elbaum, Dunphy, Lalonde, Lee, Turner, Jordan. Donny Brook if you go back to Pierce Egan.

It can’t be Mike Tyson because there were two guys with that name.

While Iron Mike Tyson had a very good first few years in the ring (until getting beat up by Buster Douglas in his 23-year-old prime), the other guy was winless.

Iowa Mike Tyson probably got booked a few times by promoters just so they could put his name on the poster and advertise a Mike Tyson fight without committing fraud.

Iowa Mike went 0-8 with 6 KO losses. Born in Mississippi, fought out of Davenport.

Seems like there’s a stretch of time where everyone with the last name Sharkey became a boxer.

If it's first and last then it's probably Joe Gans?

James (Corbett, Jeffries, Tunney - real name, Braddock, Douglas - all Heavyweight Champions of the World) deserves a mention. And four of the five were James J.
