Also for a retired fighter after defeating Whyte, his next fight was a defence of his WBC title against Chisora and there was less time between the Whyte and Chisora fights than there was the Chisora and Ngannou fights, so I'm not sure what you were trying to insinuate with your inaccurate comment?

The point I was making is as Fury constantly 'retires', he then returns to fight a soft touch opponent.

As he likes to retire yearly, this is a constant theme.

I think he finds his legacy very important and can say he came out of retirement to win the HW title

On a completely different subject, it gets forgotten that Vitali Klitschko did similar.
Came out of retirement and straight into a world title fight, without any warm up and after nearly 4 years out

I agree....But what can you actually "Prep" against such low level fighters?

I understand Joshua fighting a lesser fighter, because this is his first fight back and even he doesn't know what he has left. There's even a possibility that Joshua may be mentally stronger now he has seen what he has.

But Fury's opponent doesn't make much sense. If anything, it should've been the other way around, fighting this guy, then Makhmudov.

It's basically a sparring session while he waits for AJ.

Which is a pity, because I think he could have snagged a belt off of Dubios while he waited but the Saudi overlords ain't chancing it.

 

Just imagine both Fury and AJ lose, and we have an all Albanian bout in Hysa-Prenga for heavyweight supremacy (ignoring all the other heavyweights who are actually better than AJ and Fury).

 

That would be glorious and serve both fighters right for dicking around so much.

The original Usyk date was delayed, then delayed again, Wilder 3 I think was delayed, Wladimir rematch was delayed I think a couple of times before cancelled

I think Fury likes to go into the fights feeling he has got himself in the right place (nothing wrong with that. Quite sensible to give himself the best chance), and have a feeling that August may be too close to December for that to be the case

 

In a recent interview I saw he said he’s a possibility, then references his 40 odd knock outs and said he’s a good fighter and a knock out artist. Yet he’ll go into great detail often picking apart a heavyweights record right down to the finest detail lol he knows the guy is a tomato can crusher but it doesn’t suit him to say it. He also said Ruiz priced himself out because he wants millions for a stadium fight and he just wants a decent run out before AJ which is fair enough.

 

I saw a rumor on twitter that Fury was possibly going to be fighting Kabayel next for the vacant WBC?
There were also reports Fury was signing with Zuffa?
Sounds like a bunch of BS no credible sources.
