Boxing is lacking in super stars, Who are the next super stars?

You need to be known globally rather than just in America in order to be a superstar.

Frank gambled on Hamzah even with Hamzah having a average amateur record.

Frank has tried his best to promote Hamzah , in the 5v5 Frank made Hamzah the team captain, and that 5 also included DD.

Hamzah would of got lots of exposure if he fought Chris Eubank , not Chris not interested.

The rest is upto match making , if Hamzah can fight Canelo and beat him that also helps his profile big time , he would be the only Brit to have done.

Hamzah was indeed made captain

Although that was a card funded by Turki who may have had some bias, sonething you can relate to

Bear in mind as well, he was in a more winnable fight on paper than DD was who was in the middle of his rebuild

Captains scored more points so it's very possible that was strategic

And maybe we have different ideas about what a superstar is as even if he beats Canelo I don't see him becoming a household name
A name that non boxing fans all know

And I genuinely don't see anyone under 30 right now fitting the bill to become such a star

Again I quite like him but I don't wear the same biased blinkers that you do

Yes unfortunately what defines a superstar these days? Social Media guys like Ryan Garcia , Coner Benn ?? I don't know lol

I do feel if Hamzah can fight Canelo in UK that would deffo bring eyes on him domestically and internationally too, apparently Canelo wanted to fight UK once ..

Just speaking on the show business side, it seems there’s largely like a charisma void compared to previous eras of the sport. Maybe it’ll take some time for the personalities to come out more and different fighters and camps to gel and clash. That’s why the lightweight division was so fun for a while you had Lopez with his half deluded half fascinating rants, Haney’s awkwardness, Tank’s mumbling aloofness and bizarre inability to keep his hands off civilians and the unhinged cartoonish roguery of Garcia. All different personalities and fighting styles, had the potential to not quite be a four kings reincarnation but certainly an interesting dynamic. We didn’t get everything we wanted but they’re all still around the same weight so we will see. A few new faces in the mix now too.
