Rico Verhoeven: The Brabantian Bulldozer-The Locomotive of the Lowlands-The King of Kickboxing.

Excited for the Glory card this weekend. Hopefully more eyes are on Glory now due to Ricos valiant effort against Usyk!

 

I’ll be watching. My first full Glory card, have only watched full fights of Rico (and only recently). The rules and the permissive reffing let it be pretty brutal.

add it to BKFC for my guilty pleasure list.

 

Rico did perform better than them but I think this was an “Fury vs Ngannou” moment and now when we know what to expect from Rico, he’ll be KO’d by punchers like AJ and DD. Punching power is not everything, but it sure helps in Boxing.

I could be wrong but something we can agree on is that Rico doesn’t take a punch well and he lacks power, 2 things that’s pretty important to have when you fight strong punchers.

 

I’m excited for the Glory fights as well!

 

If you just started to watch Kickboxing, watch some old K-1 fights, they are even better!

 

Except you don't know what to expect from Rico, because he's a very different beast from Ngannou. One fight isn't enough to establish a pattern, and Rico retains the advantage that boxers like AJ/DD are incredibly basic and very easy to figure out compared to one of the greatest boxers in modern history.

If AJ/DD think they're gonna blast him out like he's Ngannou they'll be the ones on the canvas looking at their corner in shock.

NO! I wish you didn’t tell me, lol! I only had the chance to watch the Bahram fight and then I had to leave my house, it’s ok, I recorded them so I will watch them later. Plazibat is a bad boy, I figured he would win.

I wonder if the Netherlands is actually a sleeper breeding ground for HW boxers, but they all end up in kickboxing and handball instead. There are tons of giant dudes walking around that country.

Yep. HWs are really motivated now with Rico gone. I think we're going to be in for some wild fun slug fests.

 

Rico could clearly have been an elite HW boxer. There may be plenty more like him.
