I was never a huge fan of Chocolatito either, but in terms of entertainment values, there's no comparison. He was levels above Bam.

Another 30 more pages and this thread will equal the length of Dave Allen's last fight (in all fairness not many fighters can match the White Rhino's charisma.)

It’s not only potentially a series clinching game in the NBA finals with two high profile teams, it’s also the World Cup. This is a terrible time for scheduling a mid boxing match.

I think with Chocolatito and Inoue, boxing fans have been spoiled for entertainment value in the lower weight classes. Bam has his moments too, but those two are multiple levels above for me in terms of aesthetically pleasing and flashy boxing.

Main issue for me with Bam is people claiming he's an all-timer after he beat the corpses of the previous generation of 115-ers, and the level of competition in this generation is markedly lower (aside from perhaps Tsuboi). He deserves some credit for beating Sunny Edwards (who seemed to be on his way out anyway though), but the other prime fighters he's faced have been decidedly mediocre at the world level and today is just a continuation of that trend.

Because Bam is such a non-draw, that's probably precisely why they scheduled it for this weekend!

Ok that’s insulting to Vargas, making him walk first. Jeez.

If Vargas can take his power, this is going to be a very rough night for Bam.

Vargas has a good high guard but that's about it in terms of things that stand out about him, should be an easy night for Bam.

I really like Bam Rodriguez but the love given him by the announcers is absurd.

No Todd, he doesn't look like a badass. He looks like a try hard nerd cosplaying as a badass.
